4 in lift and gas mileage

I have a four door trd 2012 Tacoma (4x4) I just had an all-pro 4 in lift kit installed as well as an ADD Baja bumper and a body armor rear bumper. Also switched to cooper st 255 85 16's. Anyhow my gas mileage is cut in half. It takes me about half a tank to drive about 100 miles. This same trip used to take about a quarter tank. I expected a drop in gas mileage but half seems high?

Yeah you must have a led foot. Drive like a grandma and you'll be just fine haha but when you lift a vehicle and add weight you should expect to lose mpg.
You should pick up an ultra gauge it tells you all that. I'm thinking starting a group buy their only like $60 reads everything expect trans temp

 

I'd wager that my truck is heavier than yours, and I have the same size tires. I get between 15 and 18 mpg, mostly on the higher end, depending on where and how I drive and if I'm towing.

 

Added weight. Added rolling resistance. Added wind resistance.

Off topic, but for my own knowledge, I thought 2012 Tacoma's had the updated front grill/headlights/facia

I don't see any specific numbers saying 25 mpgs.

I was thinking they could be NY plates as well. Either way I was curious as I know domestic trucks will make both style trucks in a transition year.

 

I call BS too. NO truck gets 25 then again he's up higher where the air is cooler so maybe.

 

Yeah that one it's a $20 difference, I named the cheaper one, because a lot of people like me just blew hella money on these crazy TW deals Lol

 

But you do see 1/4=100 and 1/2=100 and using critical thinking skills you can assume 1/4=4~ and so 1/2=8~

 

My point is he's giving an idea of gas useage. You're splitting hairs.

 

I thought MPG=miles you driven/The amount of gas you used silly me

 

I can get 25 mpg going south in ca all freeway over a 1k mile trip. Going up is worse though. Combination of wind resistance, going downhill majority, stock tires, etc. Once I lifted my truck and put bigger tires, that same trip went down to 21mpg.

I have also noticed slight decrease as the time between spark plug change increase. Only about 1.5 mpg though overall
