    You can't get 25 MPG on a Cali freeway. Aren't cali freeways all like this all the time.

    Lol yeah they are. That's when I get about 17 haha. But someone said you can't get 25mpg. You can on long drives depending on where and conditions.

    Well since his whole post is based on MPG and he said "Ittakes me about half a tank to drive about 100 miles. This same trip used to take about a quarter tank." its not splitting hairs at all, it's actually reading in context

    A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
    I went from 24.5MPG to 10-12MPG depending on what speed a drive at. Then again I am on 35s

    Idk who said the 25mpg but the logic is wrong in the math for 100/4 vs 100/8. That's not how you compute mpg. Just saying. He never said it takes 4 gallons to get to 100 miles he said half a tank which could be anywhere from 8-10gallons probably.

    If he would have given a specific mileage with an exact gallon then I would agree. Just saying half a tank is a reference.

    So if half a tank is 8 gal, what is a quarter? And he said a quarter would take me 100 miles and now a half does. Come on:boink:

    I saw that, but I was referring to my drastic change compared to his and the MPG in comparison. Either way also when in Cali I couldn't get more than 9.5MPG so yeah I can kind of see were if he went spmewhere more flat EX: Cetain parts Texas, he would get better gas milage.

    The gas gauge doesn't read exact gallons. This is why you can't use it for a gallon reference. Ever notice how the first 50-75 miles on a full tank the gauge does t move?

    Did you took the new tire size in consideration? if speedo is off then Odo is too.

    By that logic he would never have noticed a difference, seeing as how he based his whole observation on 100 miles so it wouldn't have moved even a quarters worth let alone a half tank.

    @TacoPretzel89

    What Mr @moondeath is really saying is there is no accurate way to estimate Miles Per Tank. It's never perfectly dry, it's never perfectly full. The gauge is almost never perfectly accurate across the span of consumption.

    It's why folks who speak of MPT are mathmatical estimators, or better yet, guessers, and calculations of MPG are more precise, when the fills are done accurately (auto cut off) and several tanks are averaged over time to account for conditional variances.

    All we really know is that the OP is getting worse MPG. Which would be expected with his recent mods. Also, since he may not know how to calculate actual MPG, he's likely not taking into account his effective gearing change and resultant odo/speedo error from the jumbo rubber. Meaning he's not as bad off as he thinks he is. Cause he doesn't really know (via the odo only) how far he has driven.

    Plus he's likely driving faster, due to the speedo error. It may look good compared to posted, but it will be higher than he drove before. Consuming more fuel.

    Until the OP reports back real, corrected, numbers, we are fairly vague in what is really happening. Other than he's getting lower MPG.

    Well then I stand corrected. I would still call BS on 25 MPT though :thumbsup:

    Thanks for all the info! Sorry the truck is a 2011 not a 12. It does seem I need to buy the gauge mentioned in the second or third post to really get an accurate reading. I am possibly driving faster than I think because of tire size -good point. I was basing the 100 mile thing on a commute I regularly make - not my odometer. Just compared what I was getting before and after on the same drive. The only thing I can think of is that I may very well be driving faster but commute times stay the same haha... I just know I am filling up a lot more than I used too. It was probably more than a quarter tank that was getting me the 100 miles before the lift. As was mentioned the tank takes a while to go down when you fill it up. Now however it does go down much faster
