Do you like your stock JBL sound in your Taco? Or is best to install a custom sound system?

It sounded a lot better once I changed the HU but I'm still using the factory amp and speakers.

It's alright. It's decent but factory is factory even though its a JBL system. I'm about to pull mine out.

I like mine for now the sub actually hits pretty hard for a crappy paper 8", after I fixed some vibration issues and got the sub amp TSB done. The door speakers leave something to be desired but they work for me for now even though I am a teenager who loves to blast music:D I will definitely replace the whole system in the next couple years when I get the money.

i could not buy my truck w/o it, so it was kind of irrelevant for me. maybe some places you can leave it off?

i'm an audiophile, i have spend many, many, years installing many, many types of stereos in many, many vehicles and boats.... BUT at 40 years old you just don't have the need to blast music at 120db's when driving.

so my opinion is that it's an adequate system that does not need to be upgraded, but it won't be good enough for those that want to tailgate or blast it at the beach with all the doors open.

    just my 3¢

I am not huge into music so it is fine for me. I couldn't buy a sport without the PQ package in my area so it came with the in dash 6 CD changer, bluetooth, sub, and XM JBL package. I wish the sub would hit a little harder, but it sounds much better than my last car's stock stereo so I'm pretty satisfied. Overall my favorite features are the bluetooth and the XM radio. I am a huge fan of these having never had them before.

Depends a lot on your input source. The XM radio doesn't impress me. iPod through the AUX input was average as well. US SPEC iPod adapter has greatly improved the sound quality. It's pretty clear at mid volume, but soft passages can still sound a little papery. I'm still hunting down some rattles, but the sub has decent enough kick for me.

And I'm under 35, like music, and I have a pretty good ear for detail.

I may upgrade down the line if I decide I have the spare money and if I can find a solution to retain the steering wheel controls better than the current options. But I'm happy enough for now.

hid head lights, hid fog lights, always on fog lights, bed lights
same here. I think it is decent.

I like the xm (currently still on the 3 month trial), but wished they had the digital FM instead, which gives the same quality sound and text information but is subscription free but not commercial free. (the 10 (?) character limit is annoying though, I think it should scroll messages if it does not fit)

speaking of xm, are there any deals or coupons for xm subscription?

It's not worth the price but it is decent. It's an improvement over a stock Toyota sound system.

Surprisingly, I'm not over 35, and yet I think that the stock system is pretty decent. People have to keep in mind its a stock system, I wouldn't say it would beat a harmon kardon/ logic 7 system from a bmw, but to other similar vehicles, I think its pretty good

DriverSound - Cool, Is that a Tool pic on your aveator? Hows the Taco sound system handle the Tool bass? Also noticed you have the 6 speed manuel. I have been looking but these are hard to find, how do you like it?

I am actually impressed with the JBL system compared to the Honda 7 speaker premium system I came from in my '08 Accord EX-L. The JBL system is ten times better sounding than the Accord system.

With that being said I wish the bass was tighter. I may have to remedy this down the line, but right now it is plenty for me.

It suits my needs. Sound is good enough now that I had the subwoofer replaced under warranty. I mostly listen to the XM, but still use the 6 disc changer once in a while.
