Without Price the Habs are a bottom third team. Timely scoring and a fantastic goalie are their strengths. They better hope they don't lose Price at any point this season.

 

Was outside last night, enjoying some crazy unusual beautiful weather here. So I missed the shit-show that the Habs put on. I was trying to figure out why they wouldn't pull the goalie, after a certain level. But I see they have back to back games. Is it really that important to shelve a goalie, for a game the next night.....when the other goalie is completely imploding??
I have no love for the Habs.......but that kind of scenario had to be a total kick to the nuts, for Montoya. Who has actually played some great hockey for the Habs, while the golden goalie was home with the sniffles.

 

Last time this situation happened was the last game Patrick Roy played for the habs.

 

Well tonight the Leafs luck will either hold out and they'll spank the Canucks or the Canucks will finally put the puck in the net and the Leafs will look like that Habs.

I wonder if reality is setting in yet....

 

Nope. Today I watched a really good interview on TSN where they pointed out the Vancouver head office looks a lot like Edmonton did right after their cup run... and we know how that turned out.

Oh there's a goal. Toronto only gets in trouble when they don't keep moving. They stopped skating for a minute there and look what happened.

 

Still think they'll make the playoffs this year.....

Leafs actually look better then i expected this year.....i enjoy watching their draft picks finally make it, and I dont just mean the high guys. Brown has been great

 

And there is Vancouvers problem. Nylander didn't even have to try to blow by the Canucks defender there. Youth is the way to go now and without a few high picks it's almost impossible to get young skilled players.

Leafs have 2 more points than the Canucks in the same amount of games but somehow the Canucks suck and the Leafs are " actually playing pretty good "

Agreed. Even Zaitsev has looked good (off season pick up.)

 

Look back a few posts Islander. I think the Canucks and Leafs will end up in similar spots on the outside looking in at the playoffs this year. The difference is that the Leafs will be getting better and play exciting hockey while Vancouver will continue to slide.
