    Howdy,

Once the hurt of the initial payment was passed I sorta wished I went with the Off Road package for a few $$$ more.

So I took it to the local challenge I play with out south of Arivaca AZ. There was one short rocky slope I had to lock my T4R to clear. Was apprehensive but luckily hunting season so plenty of 4x4 if I got stuck! It was a rocky draw coming out of a wash.

Dropped in 4 Low and walked right up it! Bitchen! I had a 2000 T4R Limited that was impressive and thought I may have taken a step back but man this Tacoma just did all I need/want!

I guess if I add a locker there will be no issues anywhere I'm likely to go! Even without I easily cleared the only challenge I try by myself so....

    Happy dude here!

    Hmmm...

I thought this is how the auto LSD works?... Oh wait! I noticed the indicator lights go off in 4lo.

So 4 lo is low geared open front and rear diffs..... I'll have to give this a try! Thanks!

SO many weird Toyota 4x4 schemes and designations. Hard to now exactly what's happening.

In 2wd its called 'auto LSD' on the dash. In 4hi its called 'trac' on the dash (depends on the year). In 4hi you have the option to be normal open diff or have the trac on (simulated 4WD LSD). In 4lo there is no simulated LSD (trac), without the mod. The off-road has ATRAC, which is a very aggressive 'auto LSD'. Works better then normal 'auto LSD'.
