2.7 fuel filter?

Planning on changing the fuel filter.. its been over 100k without being changed. I layed under the truck but didn't see it where I would have thought it would be..

Anyone have any tips or know of a good write up ?

 

It's under the exhaust manifold. IIRC, you have to unbolt the manifold a little to get the filter out.

 

actually, if im not mistaken, its kinda under the backside of the intake on that truck. it may be a bitch to get to, but its doable. send a pm to chris4x4 and see if thats exactly where the filter is.......i dont wanna lead you in the wrong direction at all!

 

Done mine a couple days ago. It is really a royal pain. It is under the intake on the drivers side mounted to the block. Took the drivers side front wheel off and that helped some by using a really long extension to losen the bolts that hold the filter to the block. I sloted out the bottom mounting bracket hole to slip it back over the bottom bolt when remounting it and made it easier to put back on. Put the bolt in the block and slipped the bracket over it and then tightened it when I had the top one in. That really helped.

 

I did mine on my 98 3RZ and it was a major pain in the ass. Good luck man.
