    Hello folks,

I've been experiencing an annoying issue with my 17 TRD Sport... Whenever I am starting from a complete stop pushing on the gas and whenever I brake to a full stop right after the car is completely still I hear an annoying pop/knock noise... Hard to describe but it's almost as if there was something in the bed the size of a bouncie ball that knocks on the bed wall every time I stop and start. I can also feel it slightly "under" the pedal... I am suspecting it could be related to the trasmission... maybe something disengaging when I brake and engaging again when I start moving again? I don't know... Any ideas?

Yep... I'm nervous it could be the tranny fluid low... it sounds like something "unplugging"... really hard to describe... Brake... pause... thunk is actually the closest description we could provide!

Driveshaft slip yolk binding sounds plausible.

Greasing but I don't think the new ones have zerks for the yolks. would really need a video of the undercarriage to confirm it's not axlewrap, too

Just to be totally clear... It doesn't do it consistently.. but when it starts doing it I can hear it a few times during the same trip...

Probably the brake pads clicking against the caliper. Not too unusual.

There's 2 parts to the rear drive axle... if you crawl under you can see it where the carrier bearing is. The drive shaft slides back and forth the way it's designed to. Inside there's grease so that it slides... if the shaft binds you get a thunk when it eventually moves... or axle wrap = flexing of the suspension and axle twist. Mine went away after I installed Icon AALs and 5100s. It was pretty subtle for me and didn't happen all the time. Likely was axle wrap...for me.

Don't think so. he says when he is stopped or starting.
Like ball in the back of the bed and he can feel in the pedal.

Its not fuel, its not brake pads.

It comes from the rear of the truck and is a noticeable thunk. It is enough to send a small jolt through the cabin that you can feel as well. I tried to get it on video right now but you can't hear it over the other noise/rustling on the recording.

Mine doesn't really come from the rear of the truck... It sounds more like mid-front... Hard to pin point but not under the bed as far as I can tell...

My 2013 has been doing this, and I've been unable to track down the source. Happens at full lock backing into my driveway and I felt it yesterday under a very hard braking application. Feels like it's coming from the rear.

Anyone figured out exactly what it is?
