Just wanted to share some good news and throw out some gratitude.

My dad had a heart attack on Thursday. Thankfully it was a minor one and they caught it in time. At first, they were thinking that they could get by with a stent, but once they got a look at the angiogram, they decided he had to have bypass surgery.

I grew up in southern Utah, and my dad and his family are still there. But due to the fact that I was in the middle of fighting off a really nasty sinus infection, I couldn't fly. So the last couple of days were pretty agonizing for me because I couldn't be there. I kept thinking that I'd hate myself if I wasn't there and something went wrong.

But my stepmom was great about it, and she told me that the doctors were super optimistic about the surgery and his recovery. I decided to just focus on thinking about good outcomes for him and hoping for the best.

So last night they started working on him. Five bypasses later, he was done, and the nurses said that he did fantastic. He's now out of the ICU and will probably be out of the cardiac unit on Tuesday! (I just FaceTime'd him, and he's doing great :p)

Anyway, sorry for the novel. I'm just glad that my pop is gonna be ok, and I'll get to see him for Thanksgiving! Hopefully he'll be healed up enough to shoot his new AR!

I wanted to post here because I'm kinda on my own out here in Colorado, and even though I haven't met more than a couple of you, y'all have been great. Take it easy!

Glad to hear that everything ended up ok. That sucks about not being able to fly and get out there to make the situation a little easier, but at least you'll be out there in a few weeks!

    Thanks, fellas!

I'll tell you, the support that my dad and our family have had throughout this whole thing has been pretty incredible. Reminds me that there are still a lot of good people out there.

    Oil change, check
xfer case oil, looked new, smelled new, tasted new... I'll try again some other time.
rear diff was done a few thousand ago, its still looking pristine. Amazing what a diff breather extension will do :)
Spark plugs, done, all looked the same.
Lubed driveline... easy other than the tip of my grease gun is a pita to get back off the fittings, but I made it happen.

All was easy, thankfully no stripped bolts or overtorqued items. But third gens can stop bragging about their hoods becoming unglued... mine has it, and its older than yours! Most of the skeleton frame is not glued to the top of the hood anymore. I keep forgetting I'm driving a Chevy Corsica quality automobile...

And, I just ordered a new tool. :anonymous:

Hang in there bud. Glad it all worked out. Take care. I know that feeling of having a father having a heart attack. My father wasn't as lucky. Keep in thouch with him. It will make both of you feel better. Peace.

What do holes in the knees have to do with it? Those are old jeans I only use for garage stuff.

You always have holes in the knees of you jeans. It's only one knee though.
If it was both then one might think they are promotion pants.
