Did you have to program the switch to dim when your headlights turned on? Or just hook up the blue wire and yellow wire and was good?

I have a 2016 (3rd gen), but here's what I did under the dash...for the yellow wire on the SP-8100, I tapped into the TAIL fuse and for the blue wire I tapped IG1 NO. 2. Works like a charm. SP-8100 control panel dims when lights come on and the control panel gets power when the ignition/accessories is activated.

Yeah, so I believe it has something to do with my panel or the yellow wire. Even when connected directly to the battery it doesn't dim. When the car is turned on, and the yellow wire is connected directly to the battery it should dim?

Question for the 12v DC pros. I found some corrosion on the positive terminal of the "brain " . I'll add a a pic but I already cleaned it with some vinegar.

I familiar with corrosion of a negative terminal indicating under charging and corrosion of a positive terminal indicating over charging but what would have caused this? my battery is clean and my SP8100 is about 6 months old.

    Ok, so I finally got mine all set up and installed. Wired it up the same way as @Coop68 but I got a few set back/problems;
    - back light won't come on with ignition on
    - switch panel is still on even when the keys are out
    - somehow I can't program the switches even though it's fully on. I've gone through the steps and it still won't work. I did a reset, un-plug the 4 pin connector, press the switch-pro legend 4 times, and still no go.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'll get some pics up later on my set up. Worse scenario I'll wired it up the same way as @mr_ash and see if that helps.

    Happy Thanksgiving

I can't say for sure but I too had some frustration finding a good ignition sense signal. I used an add a circuit to the INJ fuse which has been working perfectly since my install last May. Some of the units also have an older version of firmware that won't connect to certain Bluetooth devices. I sent mine back for the new firmware and it has been working perfectly since e.g. programming.

I went with an S-Pod in my FJ Cruiser and love it but am definitely going to put the Switch Pro's SP8100 in my new Taco. Lots of good info here.

Yah that too. BT would connect then when I switch back to the main screen on the app it would disconnect.

Looks like I'll be contacting Switch-Pro about an upgrade.

I would contact switch-pro. That EFI fuse is only 12 volts when you turn the key to the on position should time out about 5-10 sec after you turn the truck off. Dimmer just needs a 12 volt source when you turn on your marker lights or headlights.

Great news. Installed the blue wire into the ACC fuse under the driver side fuse panel, and the yellow wire on the Low Headlight fuse on the main engine bay fuse panel. Dims and brighten as suppose to  Also finally got it to program.

That flush mount from @XPOTRPR makes everything flow together. 3 coats of self etching primer, and 3 light coats of Rustoleum bed coating. Has that textured feel to it.

It ain't as clean as some ya'll but it'll do for now, looks like a freackin spider web haha. It's pretty organized though. Used an 8 pin Deutsch waterproof connector just to organize all the wires into 1 simple connector. Fuse panel from Pelfreybilt bolted up with no problem.

I used this spray on the battery post and so far no corrosion. I used it when I did the install.

Update, BT works with my iPhone 6 . It's actually a lot easier now to program the switches.
