    Shit on a black truck.
Dang been MIA here for a while but as always back with questions.

Got an Icon stage 5 on the way and was wondering if I need anything else like break line extensions and peoples opinions on new bump stops as I don't haul any weight? Also will I be able to drive the truck with stock tires to get rims and tires put on or do I need to have them at the time of the lift?

    Are floor mats a mod?
    Ok,SO!
As this is my DD, I opted for the Jerseybuilt hub/bearing /spider assembly, as I do not have time to got to a shop the press the bearing in and out. This comes pre assembled with everything, seals, etc. just not the inner seal and slinger, which I bought the Toyota oem for. What I'm going to do is pull the bearing assembly and half shaft out, and since it's out, I'm going to do the drivers side front diff roller bearing ecgs bushing mod. Since I have the axle out, I'm going to de grease and clean the CV, and re pack with Toyota oem grease, and install new boots. Then replace the wheel bearing and spider assembly.
As for tools, not shown is a slide hammer with half jaw if I need it to pull the shaft, along with 6 jack stands of various heights, and roll away Full of junk, and other tool boxes that I like to call the mechanics nightmare since it's so unorganized. Also air tools.
The colored tools are bearing set tools to install the bushing. The big socket set is in the black box bottom left shelf on the roller bench.
I stole the awesome roller bench from a Hollister store that was being remodeled. Welcome to my nightmare.

Are you wanting to regear at all? Would be the best time to do it all at once.. cheapest too. For shops the only good shop that I know of is Mule expo in issaquah.. haven't seen anyone else post about reputable shops down south.

Stage 5 I believe comes with the AAL so no you won't need extended brake lines.
Bump stops, only if you do a u bolt flip. They would make the ride better off road but aren't needed.
You can drive as long as you want on stock tires. May look a little funny but you can do it

I'm not super familiar with stage 5 (never owned or been with anyone who owned Icon susp) but if its a mid travel set up (really anything more than stock travel down) then I would recommend extended S/S brake lines, if the kit is front and rear, def get both. Bump stops wouldnt be a necessity for drivability but offroading, the wheelers superbumpstops would provide a more gentle ride instead of bottoming out on the hard plastic ones and they could protect/prolong the life of your susp to keep the shock itself from being the bottom out indicator. Tires wont make a different for your susp as far as just driving to get new wheels/tires put on. that should be fine to do after susp regardless.

I have already regeared to 4.56's a while ago, didnt do the locker then cuz I wasnt sure I would keep going as "technical" with the truck as I am haha. im gonna eat a little money by redoing the locker now instead of with the gears but I knew that when I made my decision like 2 yrs ago. I had ECGS do my gears and I know they sell third members already locker installed so I could swap it out, but not sure if I could feasibly go that long without the truck as its my DD. I would try to knock this out on my own over a weekend.

Thanks Brian. I'm also assuming an alignment will need to be done. Any suggestion where to get that done?

I meant that the BP-51s are worth the cost haha but that it true with the TC UCA's as well
I'm not sure of any shops down here as I've done the install myself on the UCA's and @velillen helped tremendously with the BP-51s

What lockers do you want? other than that just differentials if you don't mind the drive to cashmere, or Mule are the only two shops i'd trust. Unless someone else knows of a different shop?

Yeah you will. Not sure of many places in Seattle. I go to a diesel shop here in Snohomish since they are used to dealing with big tires.

How was the trail past the culvert? I went through there and it was just a field for brush scrapes with the lack of maintenance on the trees along the trail. Did you get to the lookout our turn around first chance after the culvert?

At the beginning, there is a left turn up the hill. There are some good views up there and some nice discoveries.

A few pics from my journeys on that path. Been up that way a couple of times.

We did take the left hand turn and go up a ways when we came back down but we were running out of time so I'm not sure how far we got. But really nice views. Yeah after we passed through the creek I turned around at the first wide enough spot I could find. I was tired of the trees scraping the truck

Are you looking at adding a locker to your current setup or going with a complete third?

A complete third it pretty simple to do. especially since you are a sport and don't ha e an elocker to worry about. just pull the axles out a bit, unbolt the diff and pull it off. really should only take a couple hours.

If you are adding it to a current third it's a bit more work but not toooo bad. but not something I'd do and would pay a shop to do.

Depending which locker you get and if it's a complete third or not I could help ya out.

just to throw out there who would buy a RTT Mt. Shasta?? just seeing if anyone will buy it. I only used it 3 times and was thinking of selling it for 1300.00 before I post with pics I was just wondering who would take it off my hands in WA

It's only about 2-3 miles on the left turn to get toward the end of it but there are some nice views. A little rougher from the ground perspective but easier from the brush perspective.

no problem, hope it helps

Im thinking ARB air locker. since I wont be near ECGS anymore I might have to have a shop just do the locker install and not do a swap, but Ill start diving more into the details once I arrive in WA next month.

I may take you up on the offer if I am able to get a complete third member @velillen

I would recommend brake lines. I got some on here for front and rear and had my kid brother help. Ended up going to a local brake shop to cut and reflare hard lines because little bro stripped out the threads.
You can keep stock wheels, but they will look undersized. I have 31s (265/75/16) on OME 3" and it looks decent.
Bumpstops don't need to be replaced unless you plan to take your truck out for abuse, like fully stuffing tires up and making your leaf springs frown. Ive had almost a ton in my truck, and havent had that issue yet.

I am pretty sure ECGS has a thing where you can order the parts you need, they ship out whole sections to you, then give you 30 days to install and ship back your old stuff or they charge for core charge. That can allow you to order new setup with locker when you have a weekend to install it, get the old 3rd out, new one with locker in, then ship old one back, and get air plumbing done as you have more time.

I am one of the Firestone lifetime fans, but as has been said before, you have to find the right guy to do it. Not all alignment techs are equal. Some will listen to what you say, then do what their SOP says. Others will listen to what you say, and make it right. If you mess with suspension once, and that is it, single alignment from somewhere is fine. If you think you might change things over time, like swapping out LCA, UCA, new springs or struts, or really anything else later, which includes some of the harder offroading that can tweak things out of alignment, then I personally say go for Firestone lifetime. Worst case is they can't get it right, so you go to a other Firestone and still don't pay for it a second time.

Never, ever leave your CC gun in the vehicle over night! Not a good idea. That would have sucked having to report that it was stolen, only to be informed later that it was used in a crime.
