New SR5 wheels?

I picked up my new 2017 SR5 DCLB 4x4 from the dealer this week (love it!). To my surprise, it looks like they upgraded the wheels yet there was no mention on the sticker nor was I charged anything extra. So I'm curious if the SR5's are all getting new wheels, or was this a one off? I like them. I had no intention of replacing the wheels and they match the MGM nicely!

 

These were an option for the 2016 SR, but was discontinued for 2017. I'm wondering if they just switched availability to the SR5 to make a higher trim package more appealing?

 

I took off my oem off road wheels right after I bought the truck and replaced them with the sr dark alloy wheels. I like them alot!

 

The dark satin alloys are now one of two options for the '17 SR5. The other option is the silver alloy that looks like this:

I believe is because you have the SR with the appearance package. The other SR does not have fender flares and comes with the steel rims.

 

Well, it's an SR5. Salesman that I bought it from ordered the same truck a month earlier and got the silver alloys in post #4. He was jealous when he saw mine rolling off the delivery truck with the darks. Good to know, thanks for the explanation. I'd never seen these before, so appreciate everyone's response.

 

2017 SR5s have those wheels as an option on the appearance package I've seen.

2016 it was only on SRs

I think they are one of the best looking oem wheels for these trucks toyota has, I thought they were black before I saw them in person. I am glad they are not black now, seems everybody is pretty much going black, this wheel is a perfect match for the MGM color! I see why you would want black, but they still look pretty good with black why don't you dip them a lot of guys on here have!

Thanks! I am running Goodyear Wrangler Authority 265x75x16C they were $158.00 + tax. They are only sold at Walmart they are the same as DuraTracs but have a little more aggressive center tread design.

 

Yea I might just have to dip them.

nice alternative to duratracs it looks like, thanks for posting this info - i ran duratracs on my old vehicle and liked them, these look almost the same! Adding them to my potential tire list

Way too much ! just ordered same wheels new with center caps for $830

 

Here is a little better pic of inner tread. If you are looking at MT tires, look up Goodyear Fierce Attitude, they are an E rated tire, I almost went with them. Hope this helps.
