I need the damn snorkel now. Hopefully grab some extra highway MPG to offset this gas tax hike here in NJ.

Take a trip across the border into Canada and fill up...... then your gas tax won't seem quite so bad!

Here in central Alberta, about $0.91 per litre which is probably as cheap as it gets across the country.

Hey @Sub-Zero, @fatfurious2 and @stairgod, I think @gottaToy might be correct with his A$$umption of guys buying stuff they don't need.

On this water crossing this weekend at Rausch Creek, you still didn't "NEED" a Snorkel. If you went to the right, then you might have needed that snorkel. But lucky you, a Jeep was stuck and being snatched out of that lake (he forgot his snorkel.) We had to take the shallow side on the left.

@HolyHandGrenade - you're the only one with a snorkel in our group, you need to take it off. You really don't need it.

@Sub-Zero needs it. I think he took the inner fender out to clear 35s. So there is nothing protecting him. The water crossing was scary for him.

You realize snorkels are primarily for dusty conditions right? Helping your vehicle cross deep water is an ancillary benefit and only really accomplished correctly when used in conjunction with other preventative measures like applying dielectric grease to electronic components. Just throwing on a snorkel and driving into deep water is stupid and probably proof you shouldn't have one.

For those of us blessed to live in the western deserts its a welcome addition.

We know this. We accept the "ancillary" benefit. We also know the preventive measures to take when crossing deep water. This is why we've done several deep water crossings in several trips without issue. When I do anything beyond what I know, I'll check in with you. Because I don't want to do anything stupid.
