Not sure if they sell them separately. If they increase preload, I'll probably go with another coilover. @ToyTec Lifts

Unfortunately they do not sell their top mount separately

Guess they want you to buy the whole package from them, which seems to be higher. All that is is machined aluminum, guess I'm going a different route. Thanks for the heads up.

@Swiftks - I like your rationale and am thinking of duplicating your set up. A couple of questions:

    1. I don't see 6112's listed for 3rd gens - did you use 2nd gen part #'s? If so, I assume no issues there?
    2. For the rear, do you think that 5160's are worth it? Isn't the additional travel negated by the Sumo springs since they rest on the frame? Or are you thinking extra travel on extension, but not compression? Just curious here.

The setup looks good and well thought out. Nice job.

Yes, I used the 2nd gen part #'s with no issues. And I paired with the 5160s for the extra travel on extension, and yes I think they're worth it... Much better shock over stock or 5100 series.

Anyone install the 6112 at 5th setting to clear 285 size tires ? If so how's the ride debating on replacing my 5100 with ome 887 in the front and going with the 5160 in the rear

You guys see Bilstein denied warranty coverage because of off-road use?

    Just a heads up.

Just installed mine this past weekend, 6112's on the 5th setting with driver and passenger top mount spacer and 285's with 1.25" wheel spacers. Definitely a stiffer ride over stock, soaks up the rough roads fairly well but I imagine the ride would be better at the third setting. Even at this height and with an alignment done I still rub on the cab mount(was to be expected with 285's and spacers), only at full lock during daily commutes. Would definitely rub hard off road though, CMC will be done soon to allow proper clearance. You MIGHT be able to get away with 285's and no CMC depending on your wheel specs and the type of tire you plan to run.

You should be fine then, 6112's tend to give more lift than what is spec'd out.

So these are designed for off road use, and they won't cover it? Bye Felicia

They cost 650 bucks are you guys really that cheap? I have them so i can go to the desert, have fun, make it home. If they break i probably caused it. Take responsibility for your actions and have fun!

I just called Bilstein and they said, They have a 6112 coming out for 3rd gens this month. Separate part number (47-234413) and they are doing the first run this week. So it should hit stores this month. The rep said they were changing the stiffness of the rebound to handle the extra weight of the 3rd gen. I think the reason they declined the warranty is that he was running 6112 for a 2nd gen on a 3rd gen. She said if there was ever an issue just to tell them that I was "driving" and it broke. The only reason they wouldnt warranty is if some big rock punctured my 6112 and that makes sense.

I just ordered the 5160 for the rear and I really wanted to order the 6112 but I am waiting cause I dont want issues down the road. I have been reading up and it seems like this pairing is giving the best bang for the buck. Soft plush ride on the street and great response off road. I was considering the 5100 with coil or moving up to fox/icon stage 1 but I heard they are more stiff and I dont want a stiff ride on the street. I am only going for a 1-2 inch lift so this should work well. and if I end up adding weight to the front, I can switch out the springs for a firmer set. On the rear, I am thinking about a 1 inch block to get a little height but not sacrifice ride quality or adding an aal for when I start towing more weight. I have done a lot of reading and this seems to be a great option for around 1100...

as with any shock, I personally wouldnt rotate it too much just to rotate it haha. if there is any grit in there, there is the chance rotating the body around could work it into the seals and damage them leading to leaks. I know its a small chance, just figured I'd add it as something to keep in mind.

Ive heard that, but I think an aal or sumo spring will be more stiff. I think a 1 inch block wont be a bad ride. Im gonna do the 5160 with out the block then add it to see if the ride suffers
