Is there a worse tire than the BF Goodrich rugged trail tire

that comes from the factory?At low speeds I can feel every piece of tread in the tire (like a real mud tire), and honestly, from day one of a brand new truck, they feel like they are out of balance and look like they are worn about half way out already.

Am I the only one who thinks these tires suck?

Better than the Dunlops!

 

I don't go off road at all. I might be trading these out for some Michelins LTX's pretty quick.

My Ranger's GY Wrangler RT/S lasted forever, but had lousy traction also.

 

What about some Buck shot mudders?

 

My Dunlops haven't been bad to me...

 

Mine are fine so far

 

on the street there not too bad, but get on sand or mud, all 4 of my tires will spin with little effort well 3

 

That's about how the BFG's ride at low speeds.

 

Worse than rugged trails...Worn rugged trails. Hated mine. Cant say enough about my Cooper Discovery ST Pretty good road manners. Awesome in the ice/snow.

 

In the early 1970's I worked at a BF Goodrich factory store busting tires. I think about every BFG Radial T/A I mounted in those days was out of round. It was so bad we would mount the rim, find the high and low spots using a dial indicator and then mount the tire and check the run out again. We would try to match the high spot on the tire with the low spot on the rim. Finally we sent problem tires across town to a retreader to have them trued. If we didn't we could not balance the Radial T/A's with out over 8 oz weight which is way to much. After that I have never bought BF Goodrich tires. Others have had better luck though with them.

 

Dunlops X to the Nth power! Actually, my main complaint with the dunlops was the fact they wore down to the replacement indicators at 13K miles! At least the rugged fails last longer...

 

No complains on my stock rugged trail tires.

 

Yeah, they suck... 13,000 miles on mine and I'm almost worn down to the wear bar already. They're absolutely horrible in the snow as well...

 

I have these on my truck because they came with it. Pathfinder a/p. They are pretty bad in any kind of mud, snow, rain. It is VERY easy to break them loose on wet streets.

 

no offense colton but you have only had them for about a month

 

my dad got almost 82K out of his rugged trails, with mild off roading also.

Guy came into my work the other day with a set of them on his 02 tacoma...he clamied to get 112K out of them
