In light of the upcoming Veteran's day

I hope that it's ok for a Canadian soldier to chime in. I spent 30+ years in the regular army and a couple in the reserves. I drove a Toyota Hilux for a year on operations once. That truck was as tough as nails. It certainly influenced me to get my Tacoma.

Active Duty Army, always wanted a tacoma since gen 1... when gen 3 came around it was a long term goal of mine . As someone previously mentioned I loved the toyota hilux (deferender 90s more so) that were littered throughout IZ. My Toyota is now more of a family hauler and camping enabler. God Bless~

 

It's a qualification, but the Army calls us JTAC's because that's what they know us as. TACP is our actual job, and unlike others who just have the cert, CAS is our lifeblood. Most of the Navy NSW, Force Recon/ MARSOC guys I've met are SOTAC.

I didn't want to name drop my ODA brethren. Yeah, usually the Echo's who get SOTAC.

 

Not an echo, but definitely on the list of schools I want.

 

3+ years active duty Army, 11B was the life for me!!!

No impact on my decision to get a taco. Looked for, and found, several excuses to get my first back in 2012. Wife messed up her thumb to where she can't drive stick any more, that was the excuse to trade up for the 2016.

Nope nothing fancy like that.. I'm actually just a vanilla medic.. I have just had some amazing luck in getting attached to some awesome units on deployments. Back to back to back trips where I felt like I was the luckiest SOB in the area.

Army flight medic here. Will be picking up my first Toyota in a few months when I return home. This has been a great community to learn and share! It helps pass the time in shit holes like this place.

Thanks to all who have or currently serve. I was Army, forty six years ago, in a republic that no longer exists. From my experience, the only thing that exceeds my hatred for war is my love for our warriors.

I volunteered. I bought a Tacoma. No connection, no regret for either decision.

Good luck! It's nice to see younger and younger people competing for E7.. I think they made a good choice dropping TIS/TIG

 

Marine infantry from 07-12. No effect on choice of truck. I just wanted something "relatively" small to make it easier to load my downhill bike and do a little off-roading. The quicksand color was just icing on the cake haha.

I haven't been influenced by anyone, I usually do the influencing haha. I had my Tacoma prior to joining.
