I did tires and a lift first....THEN a front skid. Next will be sliders. I just avoid things that can remove oil pans, etc.....

It's got a factory front skid. I'm concerned about transmission, exhaust, and other important stuff. Are the factory front skids junk?

Not so much "junk" as just "marginal". They'll take a little abuse, just don't use them as a battering ram.

    Got ya!

    There's so much to do!:goingcrazy:

Skids and sliders will be the first armor upgrades when the time comes. Where I work, we have metal and a fab shop, considering making my own if I could find a schematic for the skids. Also good friends with the Engineering Dept too.

My front skid came off a friends truck. He routinely "landed" on it.....It was bowed and did not fit too well. I used a hydraulic press and a few hours to carefully put it back into proper shape. It fits just fine now and shows no scars. I'm pretty gentle with my truck now days. When I was younger, I would have killed this truck. Now I'm slow and deliberate, choosing not to do major damage where possible. I just don't like crawling around under a truck on a hard driveway like I once did...

I plan to attempt a solid burnout, if the baby 4 can break em lose, before I get my new ones. I've got a few thousand more miles left, it'll be fun and white-knuckle driving if it snows good this winter lol
