He did dive right on by and into the kicker.

 

He didn't dive at all, he reached out to knock the ball out of the holders hand but was running too fast. He stumbled as he reached for the ball which dipped the shoulder.

 

We should stop talking about this shit already.

Case in point: All Seahawks fans love Sherm. Everyone else hates him. Then we see what we want to see in regards to him

 

The knee was always there. The kicker starts 10 yards behind the LOS before the snap on FGs. The ball starts at the LOS. Sherman was running toward the kicker before the ball was even snapped.

 

No way, you can call the guy a lot of things... cheap is not one of them. How would you react if I called Bowman cheap/dirty/classless and provided bullshit evidence?

 

I'm not a fan of Sherman and his antics, but he's a good player, so that's what I support. As soon as he becomes dead weight I'd be happy to see him gone. His egocentric attitude gives the Seahawks a worse rep than they should have.

 

Then what is your defense for him on the last play of the game?

 

100% legal and smart. Learn the rules man ffs you try and try and try... do you know anything about football? Once the QB leaves the pocket you can drill a receiver, just can't hold them or PI.

If the intent wasn't to hit Carpenter, then I don't understand why he didn't just dive into the ball and/or the place kick holder. That would have been the action that would have prevented the ball from being kicked.

 

The FG was missed, he prevented the ball from going through the uprights.

 

I'm aware of that rule. That is a good link. At first I didn't realize that Taylor was out of the pocket. The ball was on the left hash marks, and Taylor still had a lineman in front of him and slightly to his left, but I can see that being considered out of the pocket.

No flag makes sense.

Carpenter faked the injury for a flag. This isn't soccer pussy.

 

I'd say that had more to do with him hitting Carpenter than touching the ball.

I've blocked two FGs in HS games before as a corner, and it happened by diving at the ball, not the kicker.

I just don't see why you wouldn't just dive straight at the ball. If the snap was botched, the holder would have easily been able to stand up and make a play. Sherman would have been on the ground instead of on the ball.

 

But...was Sherman's shoulder deflated?

Because he KNEW he was WAY, WAY, WAY offside, and was showboating. There's no way he was playing till the whistle. He's a douche. Not even a douchebag, just a douche.

Well, Blandino says there was clearly a mistake made and it should've been an unnecessary roughness penalty. I'll trust he knows what he's talking about over what some fans says

They've had just as many against them. Instant replay exists in the NFL today because of the Seahawks getting screwed out of a spot in the playoffs, ironically, on MNF football. Not to mention the 2005 Super Bowl in which the head official apologized profusely and admitted they cost the Seahawks the game. That's two big games... like ANY team in the NFL I can keep going.
