Good morning another day of sunshine and warm weather here. Would prefer it to be a bit cooler but be careful what you ask for....

I took the Coral Shitter around the world in 83, was on her for a couple of years.

Loved Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, or more accurately Bremerton and Washington State. Portsmouth, not so much.

We were, I checked onboard right before the cruise and was there until late 84 then went to shore duty. Still ended up with more sea duty than Moby Dick LOL, sea\shore rotation of a snipe was 5 and 2.

LOL Nope I am allergic to Dungarees So in stead of playing in the water I decided to cook on pavement USAF. Truth be told I did not care which military I went into I wanted more training in metal work of the type I liked precision work. I checked them all out for what they had for metal work and USAF fit best though , navy was 2nd in line. I am glad however, after joining and meeting some Navy Air Frame Structures guys I went USAF as the focus is solely on Air Frame and repair and some side training . As I understood from the Navy guys they were more all around which works for the Navy since they had a finite amount of space on ships so they could not specialize as the Air Force did. Where it showed was in some of the repairs we watched being done that would never be allowed unless it was ABDR ( Aircraft Battle Damage Repair) IE one time flight stuff.

Bout the same for me... But electronics. At the time, the Navy actually fixed electronics, and the AF was module level replacement. Turned out, before I got out that the Navy was the same - rip and replace.

Good afternoon. Didn't get to plat with fire yesterday...maybe n3xt week.

I was invited to be in a veteran's day parade locally. Don't think I'll be able to make it though. The season (snowbird season) is well upon us and thing's are getting busier at work and, if I don't get with it I'll just get buried.

On the upside, all the guys at work think the Tacoma is pretty cool and I think it's pretty cool so everyone's a winner.

i wish when i was young i'd have had that much fore thought. i went in as an air traffic controller but have spent most of my life doing metal and autobody work. the training i could have recieved through the millitary would have been invaluable if i'd have known and chosen that field
