i know theres been alot of posts regarding some TSBs. i just got off the phone w/ toyota (1800-331-4331) to submit a complaint regarding problems ive had with my 2010 tacoma ac 4.0 trd sport. first complaint-hesitant tranny while making slow turns..second complaint-rear leaf spring technical service bulletin aka the "harsh" ride..and third-possible faulty radio (cuts in and out while acceleration). toyota extremely helpful customer service! they emailed a complaint report to the stealership where i purchased from in 10/09 and in 1-3 business days dealership will be calling back. ill deff. keep you guys posted regarding the soon to be fixes! >fingers crossed<

both are tsb's....why not go straight to the dealer to begin with? many including myself have had the tranny tsb done and many others have had their cd player replaced b/c of the shutting off w/o going through toyo hq

Waiting to see what happens. I wonder if this isn't the way to get a dealer to do the work, assuming you meet the criteria for whatever TSB.

I think dealers rely on customers not knowing about the TSB's, and routinely deny them, but I wonder if that's the case when they get it from Toyota rather than the customer. That would leave them needing to explain to Toyota as well as you.

I had 3 TSB's done on my 09 by only going in and stating I had that problems and would they please check them out.
Less then an hour later I was informed that Yes I had issues, (with the truck :p ) and that they had the parts in stock, and I could pick the truck up later that day.
No calls, no problems. My dealer was looking out for me and them.

Yeah...Going straight to corporate was overkill if you haven't even talked to the dealership yet.
Well informed approach to the dealership has gotten me better results than "they should call you in 1-3 business days".

    Be sure to update us!!

Because sometimes you end up in the situation I'm in where the dealership finds nothing wrong. That's why you call Toyota corporate first to get a case # and THEN bring it in. My dealership, like many I've dealt with from other brands, is worthless.

most people on here go dealer first, then call coporate if the dealr is being a dick. hell, a dealer may be a dick after going over their heads. one of the things they ask is if u have taken it in. take it down to gene reed in charleston and u wont have a prob :D

I'm going through this process myself. The last time in for an oil change, I brought up the "harsh ride" phrase complaining that I bottom out with no load and sagging with a trailer. They stated the suspension is "functioning as designed". I am waiting to bring it in again, same scenario, and depending on their reply, may call Toyota HQ.

I wasn't going to present my knowledge of the TSB to the dealer, but maybe I should.?

Gene, they tell you to bring it back with weight in the bed? They told me that; I still haven't brought it back and the TSB is being done. Call corporate. The fact is, the TSB clearly states "based on customer complaint" so you complained, they should do it. End of story.

Been there, done that. I don't play anymore. My time is worth too much to bother messing around with some dumbass at Sparks Toyota's service counter. It's being handled correctly now.

When they "get it" from Toyota they know they will be reimbursed for the work.

alright so i spoke w/ toyota yesterday about 13:00 whom emailed a complaint report directly to the dealership where i purchased my 10 tacoma, and in about 30 minutes, received a call from the dealership whom recommended to bring it in right away. brought it in at 16:30..they close at 17:00 so i left my keys, filled out a complaint report and spoke w/ the customer service manager and asked if he received the email from toyota corporate, which he was unaware of, supposedly because his "internet hasnt worked in months" (shady), but he would call me today 1/27 after they figure out whats wrong w/ the tranny, radio (which is the least of my concerns), and rear leaf springs....more to come!

    Thanks

Took a copy of the Trans. TSB in with me when I had my oil changed and was told I should wait till the truck learns my driving habits. Asked how long that is. He said 10000-15000 miles!! Next step may be corporate!

Yes, well rumor has it that they get dinged by corporate for excessive warranty repairs, which this falls under. I think you're right though, if it goes that route how can corporate complain...

Yes there is for a nominal fee that is a Toyota site but since your truck is an '05 you're past the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty to qualify for most procedures unless it is powertrain related for which you may still qualify.

The site I used is https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInf...Oc%3d&TARGET=$SM$https://techinfo.toyota.com/
