would a homelink mirror from a junkyard be an easy swap?
double stick tape on the opener is sounding like a good option.

I had a keychain opener that I used for my motorcycle. Just used some heavy duty double side tape and stuck it to the right of my steering wheel. Works perfectly.

What do you mean by "bolt on" kit? It is just a replacement mirror? If so, I would be interested, but just like to see what it looks like. Thx

Can someone kindly probe the mirror pins and figure out which wire is 12V and which is GND? I want to tap off of them but I don't have a DMM handy. Thanks.

Did mine yesterday, bought 50-GENK40A4 from eBay $210. Homelink with autodim mirror, didn't needed the compass since it is on the cluster screen. 2016 Tacoma mirror compass sensor is built in mirror so no worries in damaging any sensor in the truck. Didn't took pictures but tapped wires on my truck were:
    -Blue - constant 12v
    -Brown - Switched 12v
    -White/Black - Ground
Tuck everything inside top and done.

Hope this helps, also if you are testing with a multimeter note that switched 12v only powers when engine is running. (Took me a while to figure that one out)
Ps. Also used switched 12v for my V1 radar
Please be aware colors may not be the same in all trucks.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do with mirrortap. Thanks!

am resurrecting this old thread as seems to be the preferred method. best i can find for the mirror is $599.00 on Amazon. the only mod i would consider would be to re purpose the folders button or the back button on the right side of the steering wheel. have no idea how to determine where the wires go under the dash and how to identify them. anyone know of lesser $$ mirror and any electrical gurus out there like the guy that re wired the ECT button that can shed any light as to how to re wire the buttons i mentioned to a garage door opener placed near the front grill?

I got the homelink mirror from Bob's Mirrors on eBay and installed it the first morning I had my TRDOR. I think it was around $200. That and the clazzio seat covers are the best mods I've done. Check on e-bay.

Got homelink mirror from bobs mirrors. install was simple, plug & play.
    Way cheaper then factory pricing.
