help me get over this OCD!!!

Maybe I'm not the only one.. but I'm extremely anal about steering alignment to the point of it perhaps being an OCD.. I would constantly look at the steering wheel's rotation relative center, and in real time compare that to the curvature of the road.. constantly making this comparison to make sure the wheel is precisely in the center while the truck is going straight - over and over again while driving down a straight stretch even though the result won't really change from one second to the next...

What should I do?

Oh and not to mention the constant testing of the alignment by putting the steering wheel at center and see if the truck drifts to the sides, and if it does, process the perceived bank of the current road surface and acknowledge whether the drift is warranted... argghh!!

I've actually turned around to go back down the road in the opposite direction....just to make sure that it was the wind that was causing me to drift and not my alignment.

Have you ever noticed that there is a dot in the top of the windshield above the steering wheel? This should add to your OCD

Nothing in the world bothers me more than the steering wheel tilted a bit right or left while the truck drives straight.

I feel a bit Monkish.

I bought their lifetime alignment package from Firestone and now they know me by my first name.

It has been an obsession for 30 years.

I finally taught myself how to adjust the wheel align.

Seriously, we need to find help.

 

Ill get you all in a line and run down it slapping all of you in the face everytime you talk about the damn steering wheel lol. Oh btw, you may wanna go check your steering wheel RIGHT NOW, I bet it isnt straight.

 

I feel your pain. Not so much with the steering wheel, but when I had my first gen. the trip odo and the real odo HAD to match. Wife reset it once and it took me 1000 miles to get it back!

 

When I bought the truck and drove it home it was off slightly. It drove me nuts. I called the dealer to have them fix it.

Last weekend, it was very windy out and I nearly had a stroke driving up 281.

It is a serious issue.

I could see a drive by wire system in my future. Just so I could align the steering wheel straight under all driving conditions.

 

I'm too lazy to perform that OCD
