I finally found a pair of work boots wide enough to prevent squashing my aging feet. Frequently I have had near misses during parking lot chess (Walmart checkers) mashing both pedals at the same time accidentally. My 2011 access cab has yet to have a dent on it even though I am an aggressive driver. Anyone else with this problem?

    Re-learn your foot position.

I wear a size 15 wide boot and have no problems with hitting both pedals or hitting the wrong one.

I have big feet and I had that issue when I first got the truck. I found that I had my right heel too far to center. I learned to keep it farther to the right and no more problems.

If your avatar is you I am going to venture to say that you are 6'5" 250 lbs, with a size 17 shoe and meat hooks for fingers. We mere mortals have no problems with the pedal position on 2nd gens. Nothing that I have heard of anyway.

I wear 13 in some boots. I had a pair of Doc Marten work boots some years back that were super comfy but had a huge sole on them. I was moving my F150 from street parking one morning and I went to brake but floored it into the back end of my neighbors station wagon. My rear bumper was fine but I totally busted the guy's taillights. I paid for the damage out of pocket and neither of us reported it to insurance.

I can't even drive mine while wearing work boots for this reason. I have to drive in tennis shoes. Even with tennis shoes, my foot occasionally catches the brake just hard enough to make the brake lights come on.

Don't you also own a vette? :spy: That would be a real peach then I imagine.

I guess I never realized that this was problem for people.

Hey, good idea and answer to my question. I am headed to the polls in a minnit and I intend to write the name of my dog for president, not the name of the old lady's cat, as promised.

I have size Sasquatch (14's) footwear and sometimes wear freezer boots to work (Read extra wide / thick) and have no issues...

Little bit of finesse, and technique and it's all good!

I'm only size 10, but I wear my fly-fishing waders with wading boots & duck hunting boot waders all the time and have no problems with either.

My previous vehicle was a Nissan Pathfinder with manual transmission. I have one pair of boots that with soles so thick and heavy I couldn't always feel when my foot was on clutch! Tacoma I got with auto, but never had issues with gas/brake.

Size 10 here, and with snow boots I once hit accel and brake same time in the snow, tree stopped me...wasn't going very fast, had to straighten all the bumper attachment crud and buy new end mounting clips...the stock bumper on the first gens is really just there for looks...you got to pick your shoes carefully that you drive with...
