Keep the long bed. I have a long bed and love it. Take my father in laws short bed sometimes to the Dez when we go together and it's stupid how small the bed is. It's only an extra foot but that extra foot puts your bike in the back of the truck with tailgate up and shit stuffed around the bike you don't have to worry about flying out the back like gear bag bike stand cooler and shit

Yep, decided to keep. I have the free platinum 8 yr/125k warranty on this truck from Toyota and they comp'd me 1 month's payment (diff howl). Dealer was gonna give me what I paid for my truck back (minus of course taxes, fees, etc.) for all those smart alecks in here. I'll pause and wait a few years. Maybe a refresh from Toyota or something. Thanks for all the input to those that commented.

I would consider the Access Cab if you don't plan on giving taxi rides. Same wheel base as DCSB and 6 foot bed included.

My issue is the resale is a good deal less. I had an AC that worked perfect for me. That and they cost only $1-2k less, which baffles me since they a) have a smaller cab b) don't have power sliding window c) don't have sunroof with tech d) don't have bed light, come on toyota, really.

These trucks still hold their value well regardless of cab size.

Correct tacomas hold there value well, but compare a DCSB or DCLB with same package, mileage, etc to an AC. The AC percentage wise holds less resale value in comparison. Easy to understand as most people opt for 4 doors.

There was an auto auction guy in here the other day mentioning the best config to buy for resale, it was anything TRD DC, then DC m/t, then DC sr5.

you're still paying less for AC when you buy it. If I were you, I would just get another DCLB, it rides better and has the same tech as a DCSB.

Not by much. A TRD OR AC with tech package is only $1k less than the same TRD OR DCSB with tech package, and you get a pwr slider, sunroof and bed light in comparison. It still loses percentage wise in how well it holds value, not saying AC dosent have its place, great truck I had one, but its not as desirable in the resale market and thus holds less of its original value.

If you know you are going sell Then with a DCLB. It rides better than and has the same tech as a SB.

Yep thats what I have, just wish I had got an OR to begin with. Oh well. Still lucky to have a new truck, many can't even say that or even own a vehicle. Easy to lose perspective sometimes ;)

I see you chose to stay with your long bed.

For what it's worth... I've had two 250s and an 85 in my short bed. Had to get creative with the gear bags and such but it all fit. I can't imagine 3 full size bikes, but even two fit fine in the short bed. Only disadvantage I can see is not being able to put one bike in the bed and close the tailgate.

ya and thats what I love, its usually just me, close the bed throw the shit in the back, no worries lol. But when I'm not riding its like driving a limo around lol and I couldn't tell you the last time I had passengers in the back.

Here's a hint. Start the bike and put it in gear. Modulate the clutch/front brake and you can walk bikes up with ease. My rear is lifted like 5 inches including tires. No issues.

Had a 14 taco shortbox and didnt mind the bike hanging out, it really came down to ski/board season! Needed space for the bro's and fam to go skiing everyweekend... Had to go dclb!! Wouldnt go back and it is nicer on the bike. Dont have to worry bought the ramp shooting out the back etc with the gate down!
Offroad wise sb is technically better but most guys with dclb will tell you they have NOT had any issues offroad.
