Pro Comp Traction Bars

I have a set of pro comp traction bars with all mounting hardware. I'm bringing my truck back to stock, so I don't need these anymore. I would consider shipping, but they're big and heavy, so local is preferred! I can take more photos tomorrow if anyone wants to see them.

For what purpose would I want these?

 

They make you have 100% traction so you no longer need lockers, 4wd, or aggressive tires.



Actually, they make a connection from your solid rear axle to the frame in order to counter axle wrap. Usually you only need them on big lifts (think Hawaiian style).

Correct, they are very useful besides huge lifts though. The main selling point of these for a Tacoma is to eliminate wheel hop, and prevent damage to your rear diff. Because many of us have softer rear springs, there is a tendency to induce wheelhop when accelerating in addition to the angle of the diff putting strain on the diff and U-Joints. I'll try and find some videos on this, but it's a design flaw on the truck that is improved greatly by stiffer springs, but if you add these guys on, the difference is shocking. Really tightens up the rear nicely when accelerating and turning at the same time, I've noticed.

I mean I could do that, but unless you wanna do freight it's gonna be absurd. Greyhound might not be too bad or fastenal, let me know if you're interested and I'll get a quote.

LMAO. What can I say, you took better photos than I did. I'm selling so many parts right now trying to get my truck stock, and all the photos I took of the traction bars look like crap.

I've never been to Hawaii. The traction bars look like a drag strip application from my hot rod days.

In live in Canada and I have a 4wd. We don't buy any 2wd truck for off road, winter, or any associated truck use... period. A 2wd would be considered a car.

Yea they are definitely used on some drag cars for the same reasons I was mentioning before, but amplified because of the massive torque. Hey, who said anything about 2WD, I have 4x4, no problems running traction bars through snow.

In general yes, but they're not necessary if you are really easy on the gas and such. And if you go with some stiff springs like Expos, you would be needing to put out power to really need anything. But if you have a mild lift and don't like to haul ass, it's not necessary, just helpful.

Uh too many things... ATO Front skid, probably a full front end swap very soon, retrofit headlights 2012+ with color change + demon eyes, Road Armor bumper, G4 Elite Fold-a-cover locking... Maybe more lol
