Look how my swaybar is hitting the coilover. :(

the light is still indicating a malfunction with one of the traction deals.(A-Trac, Vsc, Auto LSD, you get the point) My steering wheel is tweaked. And it sounds like I am peeling out when I make a right turn.

I am going to take off the swaybar and see if it helps. Dont know what is is tweaked. I was thinking about going to the dealer but knew the would try and stop me from leaving. After I remove the bent swaybar if its giving me problems I will take it to orw and have them look at it. I hope the swaybar is bent and not something else. we will see soon enough. here are the pics so you can see what I mean.

Well I took off the sway bar and the light still comes on. I am going to pull the battery and then see if it comes back on. The steering wheel is still turned to the left. I guess I am going to the dealer tomorrow to have it looked at.

    BONE STOCK! lol

The tweaked steering wheel is whats probably making the traction control or "slip indicator" light come on, If these are like the new jeeps they have a steering angle sensor and when the steering wheel comes in off center they have the same thing going on, alignment or just centering the steering wheel usually fixes it

Hey guys that was a great trip - both parts! Before hearing about your damage, it was one of the best trips ever. Sorry to hear about the front end probs... I wish I saw more of the front end while we were still together.

Regarding our beads - we put a lot of stress on our side walls during our many slides (90 degrees to our direction of travel). Maybe a good time to get a set of beadlocks! ;)

It would have been great to have both sets of chains on. I picked up two sets of RUD chains that worked beatuifully! and easy to put on considering our mucked up trucks and trails.

I just got back from my Santa Rosa Mt snow shoeing trip - killer too!

I'll put some pics up tomorrow.

She had a lot of work done - 2 cups of tea to complete her!

Ocotillo Wells would be a good next trip... What do you think?

Rick, that's how my steering wheel looked when I drove straight after I bent my spindle. I recommend taking it to The Truck Shop and have them inspect it. They inspected mine for free and had a replacement the next day. Excellent service.

Do you notice any negative or positive caster on your tire?

I took it to Toyota and they couldn't tell me what was wrong. They thought I had a bent LCA or bent frame and they were trying to send me to the body shop to get the frame measured.

Oh, and it cost me $80 for them to tell me they don't know what's wrong with it.

It's funny because (literally) the second James at The Truck Shop walked out of the shop door, he said, "Oh, it looks like a bent spindle. Not too big of a deal." That was after looking at it for 15 seconds. 15 minutes later he came back in and said he could have a replacement tomorrow and they'll throw on gussets for me. +1 for The Truck Shop and James!

~$350 if you want to install the spindle yourself. Assuming that's what's wrong of course.

I am only recommending The Truck Shop because they inspected my truck for free and I'm hoping they'd check yours for free, too. :)

They are great with customer service, too.

My spindle bent when I whacked a ledge really hard with the driver's side tire. Perhaps the same thing happened?
