This will only allow the rack to be in place at the same time as a cover. Unfortunately there's no magic solution that would allow the cover to open as well.

I plan to just access gear in my bed by opening the tailgate.

The way I look at it is, they would need a wrench to remove it. Since most of our accessories are bolt-on, they could steal anything, right?

First I have to figure out how much these brackets add to the price.

The rack can be ordered on our site. We have about a 3 to 4 week backlog right now. It's best to get your order in asap. We can't keep these things in stock.

They are coming in with the next batch of bed rack parts in roughly two weeks.

They will be a $75 option when purchasing a new rack.

No, it only allows the cover to be in place at the same time as the rack. Access to the bed will be limited to the tailgate.

It would be great with a drawer system then.

Awesome! Will you be able to provide pictures of the brackets mounted with the mid level rack? I am wondering how much higher the rack will be. Thanks for the work.

I'm late to game on this one...sorry just stumbled across the thread. I do have a lot of first hand experience with the bed rack and tonneau cover as we are one of the original users of the @KBVoodoo bed rack system on a 3rd Gen Tacoma. We are not affiliated with KB any way but I have worked with the owner, Chad a lot.

We've used ours extensively for hauling a large RTT (Tepui Gran Sabana), 6 gallons of fluids in Rotopax, 11lb propane tank, 2 ARB awnings, 3 gallons in a Waterport and two bikes. All of this while bouncing around on various trails around the Southeast for the last 10-12K miles. Aside from a few hiccups and mistakes on my part with the early version the rack we have now has been great. It's light, strong and very modular, meaning if you think outside the box a bit it's easy to configure it however you want.

Getting back to the original question that started this thread the primary reason we selected the Voodoo rack up front was to make it work with a roll up tonneau cover. No other bed rack on the market has a foot design that is slim enough to fit behind the tonneau bed rails. With a little ingenuity we were able to adapt and Access Tonneau Sport roll up cover to work with the feet of the Voodoo rack. To make it work I had to notch the aluminum rails of the tonneau and make small relief cuts in the bed cover material. Once everything was in place I ran a bead of black silicone around the feet to close up any gaps. We haul an ARB Fridge back there an tons of camping gear so having the bed cover is critical to keeping everything dry, dust free and secure. The cover will roll up all the way without removing the bed rack. The key to this is having a tonneau that mounts inside the bed frame rails. Any of the covers that sit on top will not work.

Below are some pics of our rack loaded and the bed cover. Hope this helps some of you and let me know if you have any questions.

Great setup, @Inferno_Taco! You could replace that tonneau with a soft topper while still retaining the rack, too!

I don't think so. The KB rack sits just below cab height whereas the softoppers
sit at cab height so they would interfere with one another.

I'm not sure about the KB rack, but I'm almost certain I've seen soft toppers under other racks. Cool setup.

Yes, I have as well but they are all custom set ups. The biggest problem with building a rack over a soft top is the soft top is already cab height so the rack tubing is then above the cab. Add a roof tent on there and you are now way up in the air. It most definitely works but just makes for more drag. Just my 2 cents. Cheers
