Yep the VA Rating disability rating system is strange . Just to get 100% disability you physically need 160%

But they add it up to 70% so go figure.

There are two issues still out there and have been for are you ready 16 years and 12 years respectively so yes each VA region is different on handling things.

    Cypher

Changed to remove issues as not really relevant as they are not written in stone you could be rated higher or lower then I for the same issue.

For myself and thru the VA I'm 50 % disabled and in priority group #1. I just recently had my disability reavaluated and also had a QTC appointment . I copied my records from 2 yrs back to present day and now filing for PTSD , scar tissue , lack of ROM and soft tissue swelling

This should get me up to 80-90% and with possible upcoming knee replacement surgery maybe over 100%

    My current 50% disability

    L/knee replacement 30% service connected

R/knee degenerative arthritis 20% service connected

I hope they up your percentages, but at the same time it really sucks to have those higher numbers. I'm at 20% and can probably go back and they'd more than likely up those and probably recognize some of the 0's, but it's depressing to think I'm going down in health. One of these years I will go in and do it, just not yet.

I'm trying to get the VA to recognize the health issues I had at MCAS El Toro but so far they're not accepting it

At El Toro we were exposed to TCE exposure a very nasty solvent used to clean aircraft and other equipment . I handled a lot of this solvent plus other solvents and chemicals that left my skin with nasty chemical burns

Also besides that crash crew burning these solvents and Jet fuel in burn pits and being enveloped in that black toxic clouds . they even buried tons of solvent in deep pits

Martin don't delay getting to the VA , Go get reevaluated and get a higher disability rating

I'm waiting for my 10 year retirement anniversary . When I retired in 09 they put a 10 year callback on me. So when I get to around 6 mos before my final 10, I'll call for an appointment and do another physical. It's not that far out.

Yep As structures Impulse can tell you we were using stuff back in the 80s that were either banned later by the Epa or discovered to cause major skin issues as a some one here a fire fighter I believe said Methyl Ethyl BAD STUFF lol and Tri Clorothane , PD 680 what your calling TCE Air Craft cleaner and many many other chemicals for adhesives, sealants, cleaning , composites etc etc . And stuff they admit were caused by what they did to us in Desert Storm they are still fighting everyone over even though they have them listed as presumptive issues Sigh ..

Some of that aircraft cleaning solvent would turn the skin it came in contact with and orange color and it felt like it was scalding hot . I had rubber solvent gloves start leaking from contact with the solvent and it even burned thru my BDU's

Yep that would be PD 680 http://www.skygeek.com/mineral-spirits.html banned by USAF for personal safety along with purported damage to alum castings etc . We had a stripper for paint that if you left thin alum in it over 24 hours it would dissolve it or cause hydrogen embrittlement nice name was baby shit as that is what it looked like thick soupy brownish stuff.

A lot of Marines have died from Cancer after Solvent exposure at MCAS El Toro but again the VA don't recognize it . Funny thing is Marines at Camp Lejeune for water contamination are being covered under the VA . EI Toro and MCAS Tustin are so contaminated they've had to tear up and bury both bases under tons of dirt and are on the US Superfund cleanup site list
