    Im interested in seeing that. I was planning on ground camping/in the bed. Trying not to do any hotels the whole time (around 2 weeks total). I think it takes about 2.5 days to drive out there. Around 1500 miles each way.

    Im not exactly sure yet. I saving about $80/month for gas. But I am not sure that is enough.

    In the summer I drove up to Saranac Lake, NY (near Lake Placid). It was 1200 miles round trip, from DC (where I live). I think I spent about $200 in gas.
