My 2013 has 4.0L has 13,200 miles on it. The maintenance book says to change the plugs at 30,000 or 36 months. I've always went by the mileage. Any thoughts?

Dealer plugs just cost me $70.00 for 4.
    I'd say wait awhile.

A lot of people seem to like to go with Denso for both sides

It only took me 40 minutes and that was taking it slow. Went with Denso for all 6.

$70 for 4 denso OEM plugs?!?

I went to the dealer and got them for like $4.50 each...

Also took me about 45 min taking my time...

If he only bought 4 he has a 2.7 liter four cylinder which uses iridium plugs which are more expensive than copper based plugs.

    back to bone stock.
bone stock Denso for me. it's scary enough taking the plugs out of a 35000 interval motor..i would freak if they were welded in after 100,000. no thanks.

See the comment about the 4cyl taking the iridium plugs... plausible explanation

Huh? You mean at the factory they use two different brands of plug?

    Huh?

Why would that be? So they can give both NGK and Denso a slice of business?

    Huh?

BTW, my Taco is at 27K. The truck runs so well, I can't imagine needing plugs. Just yesterday put in a little under 10 gallons for 202.5 miles. Those miles included four round trips in 4lo up a jeep road that takes 20+ minutes to go 4 miles. I know I should be getting a 30K service pretty soon, but I'm certainly not going to do it right at 30. I'll go 33 or 34 at least unless my mileage drops.

Sorry but they are not $70. They are iridium, not unobtanium. Denso Sk16R11 iridium plugs cost $6 apiece.

...unless you buy them from a car dealership.

To the poster who paid $70, was that just from the parts department or installed?
