Has anyone come across an issue where your vehicle is vibrating @ 40mph? I have a TRD off-road automatic 2016. I've only had it for a couple months and I've taken it into the dealership multiple times to have it looked at. They got corporate involved and the final answer I received was that it was under normal operating conditions. They claimed they tested other similar style trucks and produced the same sound although I have tested other trucks myself and spoke with other TRD off-road owners and it seems no other trucks are having this issue. I'm new to this site so forgive me if this is a duplicate topic but any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it a sound or a vibration feeling? Does it happen at any other speed than 40mph? Go away in 4 wheel drive?

Feeling through the pedals and audible. At all speeds, less noticeable after 60mph, and most of the time goes away in 4wd. I've been told its a harmonic vibration in the front diff that is apparently normal and cannot be fixed, as per the mechs at the dealership. If I'm the only one, then I'm using testimonies from here to help my case. Anything helps

There is a Smitty somebody who I'm sure had this problem. Give him time.
Sorry, I know this wasn't helpful.

Come on Joey... lol...No I have not had this issue. I get a high frequency vibration/buzz most noticeable at highway speeds or in the 1500 to 2200 RPM range. I can feel it in the gas pedal and steering wheel. As far as I know it is considered to be a "normal characteristic" of the vehicle. But if you can catch Mike Sweers at the local steakhouse, he might just buy you dinner.

Try this thread, it's 2nd gen, but also applies to 3rd gen.
See if your symtoms match, if they do take the tsb # to the dealer...

Nice but do not think Dealer will honor TSB for truck that is not the same generation or does not match the VINs affected? Not sure though. If they do this would open up a whole new series of doors for potential remedies.

I had the front diff replaced under warranty on my 2016 for the cyclical grinding/hum/vibration. When I took it in I basically told them it had a failed needle bearing in the front diff and it was a known issue in the last generation. The service manager was aware of the issue in relation to the last gen and that was that. I did ask if he had seen or heard of this on the gen3 and his answer was pretty much not yet, but they haven't been around that long.

Same issue on new 2017. At 300miles it started. Toyota replace needle bearing. Worked for 150 miles. Told service manager about ECGS bushing. He is going to install it at no charge. Ordered it today. Hope it works. Truck now has 500miles :0

Been playing with prop shaft angles myself, so far all I have done is change when the ever so slight vibration starts and disappears...good luck...I got it real close to perfect today, I reference my thread on carrier bearing bolt size, which I figured out already...been playing with washers...

Thanks everyone, if the bushing gets rid of most of the vibration, the carrier bearing is all that's left to try.

It happens to me at 25mph(sometimes), 45mph, and around 70mph. It stops when i put it in 4wd. If i throw it in 4wd for maybe 20 or 30 seconds and then back into 2wd sometimes it goes away and sometimes it still remains. Sometimes the vibrations never happen. Its pretty strange. I have a 3" toytec lift, add a leaf in the rear, diff drop, and sway bar re-locator.

I basically have the same lift and problems. I will let everyone know what happens once the bushing is installed. Hopefully next week. So far the dealer is covering everything!!!
