In the process of lifting what I believe is a union made taco, doing the 3 inch bilstein 5100 lift kit, any tips, problems, suggestions I should be aware of?

Union made? If they have Unions in San Antonio then I guess maybe it is... Not sure what that means.

Certain year tacomas were union built. Not sure what it means in the op post though.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
you should be aware that union or not makes no difference on the quality of these vehicles. neither does the CA vs Mex discussions of yesteryear.

Union built would mean it was built north of the Mason-Dixon line....................

The old NUMMI plant was in Fremont,CA and was a joint venture between General Motors and Toyota which was a union shop. Closed in 2010 and Toyota brought in Tesla to make electric cars there.

If you ask a union member their response will most likely be that there is no such thing as a union built Toyota. Mainly because whole components are made overseas then shipped here and assembled. Since the whole process wasn't union then nothing is union in their eyes.

Dad, a union member, had to stop driving his 94 Toy truck to work because some of the guys were messing with it, leaving rude notes tucked under the wipers, threatening my dad because he didn't drive a US union made vehicle...stupid bullies. I miss that truck.

Talking Union here can be more toxic than talking politics or religion, given that to many, a Union embodies the characteristics of both, and is loved/hated accordingly. :locked: IBTL :locked:

Just sharing personal experience. Unions have their pros and cons....Dad was in the union, put clothes on my back, a roof over my head, union health insurance paid all but $800 of my mom's $100k hospital bill when she had cancer and the friends my dad made in the union passed a hat and paid that $800. But then you get to the hardcore guys who are in it for the politics....no thank you.

Once upon a time I was a union carpenter.

Don't ask me what I think of unions. It's not good. I have my reasons.

Guess I stirred the pot too much, just think that workers building a quality truck should be compensated accordingly and not taken advantage of.

Is there anything I should be aware of with the bilstein lift kit? Heard it can affect the drive shaft on double cabs.

Yep, if the angles are too much it can cause vibrations. If you get vibes then things like shims can fix it. Most here say dont use a carrier bearing drop.
