Trophy trucks drive that fast off road. If you want to race, then build the truck for racing. Driving faster than freeway speed on the beach or in a dry wash will never be a factory consideration.

I drive over 25 on the beach... around 40 usually if there is nothing to enjoy seeing.

The computer will sense an issue and derate the power. I was told the truck doesn't have a conventional LSD it's operated by the brakes . I was told that's why my truck is only one tire fire in reverse. I have been actively seeking alternatives for a year. I did learn ... that all the things I am looking for are able to be done ... but only by the TRD R&D folks at the proving grounds . I was told the software is not available to the public. I was told they test the transmission and test the emissions and the motor will and actually makes killer low end power but they are sold like they are for reasons not known to me. He said it's all EPA regulations.

building a street legal trophy truck is basically what I'm planning to do one day. Im very interested as to why it would be impossible to do the same/similar traction control mods others have talked about for quite a while on this forum with the 2nd gen tacoma. Even if this is impossible, a true trac limited slip and holding the Auto lsd button for 3-5 seconds would still work as well would it not?

    It is the VSC button.
Holding it in turns off traction control, yes., and VSC too.

HOWEVER, if you drive in a dangerous manner then the VSC will come back on to try and prevent you from rolling the truck.

Correction... it will cause you to roll. But it does beep twice letting you know your fun is about to end.

    I'm with NosBigShot and JoshyP,

The whole reason I haven't upgraded from by year 2000 truck to a new truck is due to these nanny/granny feature that can be deactivated. Is it too much to ask for Toyota (and other brands) to at least give us the option to buy a mechanical Limited Slip Differential?....and software that allows us to deactivate VSC and traction control at our own risk? I'd really like to buy a vehicle that's under manufacturer warranty, has side and head curtain airbags, modern crumple zones etc. but there literally aren't any options available right now. I might have to just buy a mustang, camaro or BRZ/86, and learn to live without 4x4, functional 2nd row seating, and a bed. At least mustang and camaro. At least they haven't taken all the fun out of sportscars yet.

you do need to spin your tires on sand sometimes. especially deep sand. or else it will bog down and you will sink.

That is the opposite of logic. Spinning happens because you are bogged down and hit the gas in a panic! Spinning the tires is why you sink. You goal is to travel across the sand... not spin the tires. You will learn this, grasshopper, in time, in time.

not my experience. you need to keep those tires moving if you don't want to get bogged down. i'm talking about loose, deep sand. like a sandbox.

Yes, so am I... bottomless sand beach with crushed sea shells that increase the difficulty. Of course the tires are moving. The key word was spinning. There is no need for spinning if your tires are properly floating on top of the sand. Spinning is what digs you into the sand. Let out more air so the tires do not spin.

Here are photos I took before and after deflating, in 4WD:

A friend in his custom 4WD motorhome/van, with front and rear lockers... was hopelessly spinning and stuck... with the tide lapping at his van when we found him, a couple miles from our camp. Before and after deflating enough air to float:
