Neither did I. I guess since it's not a beach it's all good.

I don't think I'd drive all the way out there just for the dunes, but the next time in that part of the country er state, I'll definitely hit it.

I live in Midland so it's only about an hour away from me. We used to go ride our quads and dirt bikes over there all the time. You used to be able to take vehicles out in the dunes but some douche bought alot off it and started charging people to ride which is no big deal but he said you couldn't take a registered vehicle on the sand. It's probably been 8 months since we have been out there, I will call some buddies that work out in that direction and see if anything has changed. If not another buddy of mine bought about a section of it to the I think north west side of it and he doesn't care if people take vehicles back there.

Well, my 03 Tacoma a 99 Jeep and a 91 Jeep went to the sand dunes on Sunday and when we got there we all aired down and took off it was a little sketchy at first. The sand right where everyone parks is really really loose and we were had to get a pretty good running start to make it out to the sand where there weren't any tracks. There is a actual parking lot and it is called Kermit Sand Hills but the guy who owns it will not let street driven vehicles go on the sand. We went to some property about 8 miles Northwest of there and got in the dunes. I was pretty surprised how good the Tacoma did with the Duratracs at 20 psi. If you would start to bog down in the sand just switch into 4 low and it would just crawl right out. I didn't get stuck not once all day that I wasn't able to get myself out of. The 91 Jeep got stuck twice and his brother is the one that had the 99 Jeep and a winch so each time about 5 minutes of winching and he was out. If anyone is thinking of making a run out there send me a PM I am way down to go again. I think in maybe a couple of weeks we are going to pack up and go camping way out in the dunes.
