3 year warranty sounds a lot like a challenge to me lol. I'm glad something's are still made in America. Something's I can justify buying from China but when it comes to my tools I want the best of the best. Milwaukee used to be in my opinion but my last grinder really changed my opinion about there quality. I have much more confidence in this new one just because of the fact that it was made here.

Well I made some good progress today still a little bit of cutting to do, but I should be able to finish that tomorrow. I haven't designed the top plate yet. That will be made after I get everything else tacked on and put the flares back on.

    Completed pieces:
image.jpg The cardboard is to show what's left.
And my remaining steel from my 2'x5' section: image.jpgshould have another hour or two to work on it tomorrow before work.

Oh yeah the dewalt cuts nicely so far, very low vibration. Only thing I don't like is the paddle trigger thing. I like to be able to click it on and have it stay on. Hands cramp up after a while of holding a switch down. But overall it works very well and has plenty of power.

I have the same grinder and it will click and stay on. the spring in the switch give you the option to hold it down (which would get WAY too tiring) OR you can slide it all the way up and itll stay turned on

LOVE my dealt grinder but I have the older model with he same style thumb switch as your old one. Apparently most all companies changed to this new style trigger thingy for safety... which admittedly, I've had mine catch and go flying away a time or 2 and stay running... mighta been doin somethin stupid though :spy:

Awesome liking design though! Definitely unique!! My only question though (and maybe it's just the angle the pics are shit from), does that outside piece rise up and then drop sharply at the rear almost hook like? I ask because I thought about somethin similar for mine but ended up with a more simple design because I was worried that, if wedged against a rock it might become more of a hindernce than helping

Honestly, it is probably not any better chance of hanging up on there as it would be on the bottom of the flat tube on the back. At least the corners will be sharply slanted so you would probably just slide off. Plus, isn't that what winches are for? Lol but really though I think it looks worse in cardboard then it will in steel.

It's hard to tape things in place and not have them move a little.

Finished cutting the last three little pieces I had left then started working on the receiver. Everything's still in rough stages right now this is just the start.image.jpgimage.jpg Hole isn't perfect right now but I will file it straight.image.jpgprobably went a little too wide on the corner holes, but we'll make it work.

    A little bit of recycling.

Wish I hadn't realized the factory tubing was the same size! Spent $60 on my reciever tubing I think!

Now that you have a dewalt... use #1,575,830 for a good grinder: slicing off edges of cheap counter...

Brother got a new fridge but it was SLIGGGHHHHLTY too big... solution, cut the counter shorter. Don't have a saw? No problem! Couple smoky minutes later and a beverage or 2, it fits!
