The Stage Three URD is pretty non slippable, so if you want something closer to stock I'd recommend the Stage 2, good for 440HP IIRC

That sucks. Are you upgrading it?

I've never had problems with mine slipping and the supercharger (but I seem to go through throwout bearings like they're going out of style). I don't really ever push my truck past 3.5k RPMs though so maybe I'm just being too nice to the clutch lol.

Dunno what I am doing yet, waiting on the Tech Supervisor to speak to Toyota on it. From everything I am reading online this is a known issue that the stock clutch can't handle the added power from the supercharger & Toyota is ignoring it.

This has been an issue since the dealer installed SC @ 5k miles.
The Tech Sup said if they do a tear down & find a defect, it will be covered & they will replace the parts with OEM, If no defect is found, I am on the hook.

I want to go with aftermarket but don't know which one yet. I am used to getting 100k + out or my stock clutches, 16k is bullshit.

I know the feeling. I got 28k out of my last stock clutch before the TOB went bad. New one only has 5k on it and the dreaded chirp is starting to come back. What Toyota charged me for a stock clutch is the stuff of nightmares, too. Don't get it done through them if they have you on the hook for it, find a reputable independent shop.

You don't have to do a whole clutch for a throw out bearing

Its a long story but the first time I did because I wanted to upgrade the clutch, got a stage 2 clutch and the shop that installed it put it in backwards. It was a huge ordeal that I'm still fighting for reimbursement on. Had Toyota put a stock one back in because I needed the job done quick and right (it's my only mode of transportation). So now I'm back where I started it seems but the silver lining I guess is that Toyota warrantied the stock clutch for a year. Not that I want to keep going with the stock one but when the time comes I'll upgrade and find a shop that knows what they're doing.

Any update? My dealer still refuses to acknowledge the problem.

I spoke to Toyota Corporate: I was told that by clutch is covered under the 3y/36k warranty. I got the impression from the dealer that on teardown, if it was excessively worn or no defects found that Toyota and/or dealer wouldn't cover it.

The only drivers of my truck have been dealer personnel & myself. I drive primarily highway with a minimum of stop & go and have 30 years of driving a manual. The clutch hasn't seen abuse!

It Toyota fixes it, they will use Toyota parts only. If I want an aftermarket clutch parts & labor are on me.

let yota replace it. see if it holds up. If it doesnt, replace it with your choice and either do it yourself or have an independent mechanic do it.

Just a tip for those that are trying to go through the dealer, if you've redlined your truck enjoying the supercharger, that could be grounds for a denied warranty. Just something to think about.

Maybe put a gauge cluster in from a motorcycle? "7k RPM's? Not even halfway up that gauge, man"

Yes. Your boost levels and max RPM's get recorded apparently.

Yeah I bullshitted the dealer pretty far along until the guy said they would honor the warranty up until they pulled those records and if it showed higher boost than normal and any redlined RPM's, Toyota would decline the warranty and I'd be forced to pay out of pocket for it all.

How does it read boost without a MAP sensor?

Unless they are translating MAF g/s as a representation of flow, equatable to boost?
