The second thing. Political posts are getting deleted left and right today. ANYTHING remotely political - poof! Gone.

Unsurprising. People are certain to be more sensitive right after an election, so the mods are on full lockdown today to keep the site from dissolving into an internet shouting match.

I didn't know if I needed a carrier to get my camper out of Long Beach and delivered to me so I inquired with some carriers and got a quote of $1,700.00. The import service told me that it would be dropped on my doorstep at no additional cost. Sweet, right?

Lady called me back today to tell me there was a mistake and I would have to pay a portion of the fee and my share would be $3,00.00. I asked where the trailer was and she told me that they had just loaded it. Told her that they shouldn't have as I'm not interested in paying nearly twice the quoted rates that I have on my desk.

She threw a fit stating that I had to pay it as it's already loaded. Rebutted with the drastic change from free to three grand is unacceptable and she should check out how contract laws work and that since we don't have one with each other, the three grand bill will never get paid by me and that my carrier will arrive in the next few days to pick it up.

After two more telephone attempts to convince me that I had to comply with their demands they finally agreed that I don't owe them a dime and it's their fault that they misrepresented the cost of the service. I know I'm just an old country boy but I did retire at 40 so I think it's safe to say that I'm not a total idiot.

TL,DR: I hate mental midgets and their bullshit scams.

dont want to burst your bubble but the laws are written to include jail time as punishment in case of extreme cases. (typical a punishment is worded something similar to "a fine of not more than $500 and/or no more than 2.5 years in a house of correction" Assuming she did not sell tainted food that resulted in several deaths she or maybe run a food business with 20 food trucks illegally she has a 0% chance of serving any jail time. This sounds like a typical go to court have the charge dismissed on a $50 court cost fee or obtain a food license before a hearing. Sounds like someone got on Facebook to play poor me and set up a GOFUNDME account. Media is continuing to play the evil Gov't role without explaining reality to their consumers who dont care to do their own research past reading the headline.

They were only issued a citation to appear after being warned to stop selling food without a permit. I hardly feel like people at restaurants are following proper rules. Buying food off facebook sounds like diarrhea or listeria waiting to happen.

Wow. Critical thinking, willingness to expend a little effort to find the facts, reject the standard "gub'mint getting all up in my business" bitching. Out fu**ing standing. We need more of this.

    Well done.

Meh, I've purchased tamales in a parking lot from a total stranger before. Risk vs. Reward.
