That thing looks mint. I'm assuming the irs bolts right up to any year fox chassis?

For the most part, need to drill holes in the rear frame for the brackets. Best mod I ever did to that car. improved the handling sooo much.

99-01 and 03-04 Cobras work? What about width? I've never heard of this swap.

Yea, both years would work. '03-'04 cobras had 31 splined 1/2 half shafts, so that is the more desirable ones. Width is 3/4" wider I think? I don't recall off the top of my head. With the wheel/tire combo I had, it sat perfectly. Changing the fuel filter on the other hand is now a chore. :)

I did the swap in ~'07, and there were only a few that had done it. Not sure if it ever took off (Matt Farrah of smoking tire did one recently in his car). Hardcore drag racers really gave the IRS a bad wrap (but it's a great street/road course setup), so cobra owners were ditching them left and right. I got everything I needed for $500 from someone about 2 hours away. After selling all my 8.8 stuff an exhaust, I came out a hair ahead.

I need another project like I need another hole in my head but this is definitely something I'd like to do.

I know the drift guys do this with great results actually and even extend control arms in the process.

It's already a forged 347 rotating assembly. It's going to the machine shop tomorrow. Will cut the crank and put oversized bearings in it.

So the wrist pin came loose, tore up the piston and ruined the block.
