I would have taken the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty and drove the truck like I stole it.

As other's have mentioned why do you feel entitled to a lifetime warranty? Engines wear, they break over time, thats the way things go. Things happen, toyota stepped up and offered you an extended warranty. You are way off your rocker if you think any manufacturer should give you a lifetime warranty most wouldn't even give you what Toyota did. Good luck trying to get anything close to what your expecting. Take the extended warranty, drive it till 90k and trade for something else.

Ask for a new engine OR proof the crank is not scored... I.E. Tear it down and show me! Then take the 100k warranty.

They should just give you a new engine... lots cheaper and they can keep the POS engine for "research" and data collection.

Did you not get the lifetime warranty through the dealership when you bought it?

There's a fella on the SanDisk forum that also goes by "cangus". Here's his post over there:

    "c150 frozen!!!! please help!!!

    ‎08-01-2007 06:05 PM

I was listening to the music on my c150 2.0gb and all of a sudden it just stopped. The only thing the screen shows is SANDISK. I took the battery out and put in a new one, same thing it only shows SANDISK. I even tried leaving the battery out and holding the on/off button for 30 seconds, still nothing. Even when its hooked up to the computer it just seems to be frozen. All it ever says is SANDISK. Can anyone help please?!?!"

So... cangus, what's one to think?

Oh yes, right in the damn title. OP seems to have many issues but I guess when you 3 Tacomas your odds of having a problem will go up.

Call Corporate!! I get a case number for anything wrong anymore. Latest is the adhesive seperation on the hood causing bounce?! Haven't had it to dealer for that yet. But I got an 8 year/125k mile platinum warranty out of them for low tranny fluid after 7k miles. keep calling corporate till you are satisfied is all I can say...

    Good lord.. STILL!?

Underhood adhesive was a problem on second gen, too. Supposedly it was only used there for assembly reasons and didn't warrant repair.

Toyota doesn't owe you anything more than a properly repaired vehicle. Under the law the manufacturer is responsible for warranty and something called express warranty but is not required to extend your warranty coverage in any way.
Any offer they give you is 1: an attempt at good customer service and an effort to maintain brand reputation and 2: considered a form of resolution and would be recognized in court as that. You should consider the offer carefully as it may effect your options down the road. The choice is really do you want to keep the vehicle or not. If yes then take the 100K warranty and push for a new engine. If no then get to meeting your states requirements for buy backs.
