Sounds like your buddies either had a tail on them for awhile and didn't see it coming or it was someone or someones they know. Especially the guy who's garage got hit. I'd look nearby before I look far. Check Craigslist and local swap meets.

the VQ motor you have will make some decent hp when it's got boost

 

If you can't find some leafs to do it the way you want in time, might want to look around for some bags, just to get you by.

 

With stock internals and boost. it'll make around 4 to 450 safely.
Trying to see if a v8 truck motor would be cheaper to swap than to tear the vq apart to get everything redone. but still won't make the same power as a bosited v8

 

if you have the money do an ls1 or ls3, you can make a good 700 hp for relatively cheap

 

Aren't the truck motors iron block though?

 

Nothing makes the power like a boosted v8. They just become monsters. V8 is always the best bang for buck. Just other people(like my datsun) like certain motors just for the character.

 

You want iron block for boost. LS motors (actual ls. Not a 5.3) are aluminum
