If I worked in the city i would definitely take the train. Screw trying to drive into the Waterfront or Back Bay. I took the commuter rail to high school and it wasn't bad.

When I first moved here, I lived in Quincy and took the Red Line into Boston, and usually grabbed a paper at the station to read on the way in. After that, we moved to Norwood and I took the Commuter Rail into the city but I usually just listened to music on the way in since they were more crowded than the Red Line was. Now, I drive because there's usually not good public transportation to get to my job sites, or it would take double the amount of time and the same or more cost to take public transportation.

True - guess it really depends where in the city you are going. Couple weeks back I had to go to the edge of Cambridge in the morning and it was a breeze driving in. But had it been in the middle of Cambridge, I probably would have thought about taking a train.

I have a 9am meeting near Boston common and I wasn't going to attempt driving in. At least on the train I can get work done
