My name is Justin I live in montana recently bought a 2002 trd tacoma 3.4 with 210,000 miles on it... just curious if there is anything notorious for check engine light being on.... haven't had time to hook up a diagnostics reader to it yet.... just want to pick y'all minds....

It seems to run good I've noticed if I'm getting on it to get on the freeway at higher rpms it cuts out a little almost it's hard to explain

Mine threw that light at 160,000 miles, it was the MAF. Truck runs fine though, doesn't seem to be bad, so as of now, I'm still running that same MAF sensor.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
X2 most common thing that pops up is an O2 sensor.

Stop in at Autozone typically they can give you the code there and give you a list of possibles.

i can't advocate enough for getting a cheap port reader. beyond looking up codes, getting instant feedback from your engine (for fun, or if you really need it) is invaluable.

If it's the type you have to oil, it can. The oil builds up on the MAF. Only clean the MAF with it unplugged and with MAF sensor cleaner .

Emissions codes are common too. Mine threw a P0420 code. I never ended up fixing it though. Ran some Mr. gaskets Catyclean through it and the light never came back on

x2 to oiled filters gumming up a MAF. BUT - get the code checked and search the forums or google for what it is and what you can do about it.

right now it's kind of like typing "headache" into WebMD - could be allergies, could be brain cancer.
