Or you could look at it like its a good warning to not sell your shit outside of the regulations that are put in place to keep the community/ society safe as a whole.

It becomes a different story when someone is selling food versus giving it away. There are some nasty viruses and bacteria that can be conveyed in food. If you eat for free, you're the one taking the chance of getting sick since you didn't give anything in exchange for the "product". If you buy it, then there's an expectation that you're getting what you pay for and some responsibility falls on the seller. A permit makes sure that the ingredient source is safe, the cooking operations are safe, and the seller has insurance to help cover the monetary costs of a sick customer's medical bills. It's in the best interests of both parties to be permitted.

Sorry for the long post, I am not an advocate of big government or anything, just pointing out some things to think about. It would be a completely different story of she was just giving the food away.

People are so sue scared or sue happy today...thats the problem. Nevermind that the lady is just trying to make a buck...but no you have to pay for this tax or this permit....or this spot....etc. It whittles down profits then people complain about a $12 tamale or $12 burrito! All the while some snot nose teen is scratching his ass, using the bathroom and not washing his hands then proceeds to pack your meal at McDonalds...

I too have had some really good food in Mexico and some really good food out of taco trucks...it really shouldnt be that complicated to get your tamale fix. :frusty:

Interesting.... I didn't think it was political, but rather just a news story....

The content of the "news story" was political and pretty infuriating. Ya, it was very "WTF!!!!" (I read it), but not the right type of "WTF???" for this thread. Like this:

Just a heads-up for next time
