Nice, what LeDsdid you use? Flood right? Did you wore them on a switch or just to the reverse lights? I at first was just like reverse lights duh, but what if I want some light back there while I'm hooking up a trailer

I just used cheapo Ebay lights (4 for $35 shipped). They are flood pattern. They are wired direct to the reverse lights. However, connectors used are bullet type and can easily be changed. What I did was cut the reverse wire for the trailer receptical and install a bullet on the connector side and receptical on the truck side. So I can unplug it and switch between trailer and back up lights. Wiring in a switch/relay would be easy if it was needed or wanted. All connectors are soldered to their wires, and the have connections dielectric grease and marine heat shrink.

Why not just into your normal brake light wires? Cause it was easier to reach the trailer ones? They look hella bright for sure, I will be honest, all I use are cheap China LED, I don't see the reason to spend big bucks unless I need the actual power of the sun for other hobbies (indoor type )

Wdit* and what you going to do with the other two?

It was just easier to access the wire leading to the 7 pin trailer receptacle. They are bright enough for what I need, my backup camera no longer switches to "night" mode and I can clearly see.
The reason I went with the cheap ones was that I didn't want to spend lots of $ on an experiment.
Next is to get some resistors and experiment to get the right combination in my flasher relay that I don't get hyper flash with LED turn signals.

Pulled the letters off of the grill to paint them white, but got the grill surround swapped out with a color matching one.

Out of curiosity... any particular reason why paint them white and not blue to match the truck?! Just curious.

There are a number of write-ups with info spread across three or 4 threads.
Here is the main one I used. It will have references to the other threads. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2010-4runner-mirrors-worked.92331/page-8#post-4038425
Here are the mirrors I bought. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/310724327096?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I see their price went up and they say 0 available. There are other vendors on ebay if you want aftermarket or you can price out the OEM.

Basic info is you use either an aftermarket or OEM replacement from a 2010 4 runner. Depending on the mirror you choose you will either have to swap the support arm from your mirror to the aftermarket one, or in the case of using an OEM mirror you will need to swap over a grey metal mounting plate that is on the inside of your existing mirror bottom and put it on the bottom of the new 4 runner mirror. Effectively you keep your old mounting arm so it mates to your door and put a new mirror on it.

Wiring is something to figure out. Turn signal lights exist inside your door as the sport version has signals. You will need to cut the connector off your existing mirror to remove it from the arm, just leave yourself enough wire to solder/splice it back on when done. There should be 4 wires left over at each mirror, two serve the heater (a neg and pos) and two serve the puddle lights (neg and pos). Polarity really doesn't matter on either (just keep in mind that if you replace the puddle light with an LED you may need to swap it around if it doesn't light up as some LEDs work only one way). Several wiring diagrams refer to the dome light connector and turn signal connectors from years ago and the pics in the threads looked entirely different from my wiring connectors at the fuse panel under my dash. I wanted the puddle lights to come on and off with the opening of the doors or with the fob (just like the dome lights). Not wanting to screw things up I just tapped into the dome light negative wire (which is a variable ground that lets it fade on and off) and ran that down the a pillar to serve my puddle lights. I pulled power from my aux panel under the hood. If you have a diagram and you can figure out which connector has the dome light wires on it in your truck then you can tap them. Now I have an existing power and ground down at each kick panel to put some foot lights in!

As for the heater there are lots of ways to do it but you need to use relays to wire things up, and you need a switch location. Since I have a TRD OR all my switch blanks are filled. For now I chose not to hook up the heat. There is a Sienna mirror control switch that you can put in place of your OEM mirror switch that has a little push button built in to control mirror heat but it is a pricey part. You will still need relays and a power source for your mirror heaters as the mirror control switch will burn up if you wire the heater load directly through it. I might add some relays to my aux power setup under the hood and if I do I will wire up the mirror heat. For me right now the effort/expense wasn't worth it for the handful of days it would be useful. I'm not in the mountains or up in Minnesota.

Obviously for the install you will need to remove the door panels. Several write-ups exist. It is way simple with only two screws and one pop in connector. Everything else just snaps off. I found the best resource to be a u-tube video. You may also need to drop some of the panels under the dash to do the wiring and connections. Again there are numerous how to's on the forum.

If you have questions or want some guidance send me a pm.
