What about shifting the bed racks aft?

Find the 'correct' angle and drill new holes for the pins.

I guess I can finally join this thread, @ChamYota ! Picking up three RTTs today, delivering two to other TWers early Sunday morning, and installing mine on Sunday.

This was our last time out. Makes me hesitant to keep the spare slung under.

That's the plan, but a bit spendy. I've grown to love my BSM, so I'll likely end up with a regular steel bumper with a single swing out. Someday, when I'm rich and famous.

You know, you're right. And the more I look at that picture, the more my thought process doesn't really make much sense...

I originally moved it up because the 285/75R16s didn't quite clear the exhaust. I've since chopped the exhaust, so that should be less of an issue.

With the stock exhaust routing my spare would have sat up against the exhaust pipe. Now that it's chopped the worst I'd have to deal with is hot exhaust blowing right on the tire.

I'm about to head to Miami to grab them. They were from that 40% off group buy.

30* or there abouts is ideal. Set the ladder at the correct angle, press and spin the little locking pins into the rail to leave a mark, grab a ....3/16?....bit and drill in some new holes for the pins.

Anybody on here running shell and RTT with Dakar leaf pack? Trying to figure out if I need to order Dakar with AAL or if Dakar alone is all good. Pics would be killer!

Get the Dakar with the add a leaf. Dakars alone don't hold the weight as well.

Thanks for info. Yeah I'll be running tent, shell, bed rack, camp gear, bike rack, and other odds and ends. I've heard mixed reviews on Dakar, Dakar with AAL, all pro expo pack... I'm running OME shocks all around and springs up front and very happy with OME so far so would like to stay with them. But if expo pack is THAT much better may be worth it.

Just my shell and cargo is enough to put me about an inch off my bump stops so I hit them pretty frequent (ICON hydro bumps). I can't imagine how much they're going to knock when I add an RTT to the mix. I thought the Dakar's would've been a bit stiffer but the extra leaf is on my short list...definitely go with the extra leaf.

I run mine with the standard Dakar pack. I only had 1/8" of "sag" after adding the shell and an additional 1/8" with the RTT on the shell.
