Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Best what? Sound? Performance?

IMHO, the best is already on the truck.

I have the Magnaflow. It's quite a bit louder than the TRD that I had on my last 2nd gen, if that helps.

FYI, you won't gain any power or fuel economy from an aftermarket exhaust. All any of them will do is make it louder, if that's what you want.

That's the silver lining. The $500+ you spent would only give you nicer grunting sounds.

Put a flowmaster super 40 on mine and highly enjoy the sound. Some resonating in the cab at high rpms but overall great sound and flow. The metal tubing is brand new, I didn't see any reason to replace it.

I wonder if any of the major manufactures have research to answer that assertion. I thought a more free flow of air out the exhaust would increase something other than just sound.

Not trying to be a jerk, but my vote goes to the one that is already on it. As Vodoo said, you'll get nothing but noise.

I have the Delta Flow 40 single in (2 1/2) dual out (2 1/4) and love the sound. I didn't notice a difference in performance but I wanted to hear the engine as I drive through the gears with the 6MT. I could shift using the Tach but prefer to hear the engine when shifting. I changed the muffler along with the pipes aft of it. After putting 1K miles on it, the sound from inside the cab did get louder but still sweet. A V6 won't sound like a V8 but it will do. Flowmaster has been known to have more of an aggressive sound and having heard the TRD exhaust next to mine, the TRD seems softer but still has a nice mellow sound but definitely softer.$.02

In our current era of ever more stringent CAFE standards, the manufacturers are already doing a pretty good job of getting very good exhaust flow to squeak out every last mpg.

You can still see some improvement with exhaust on some vehicles, mainly lower production number vehicles or turbo vehicles (exhaust is frequently used to help limit the boost on turbo vehicles).

The manufacturers look at everything through a cost/benefit lens.

If something costs X per vehicle, they want to see Y benefit before spending X.

I have a MBRP turn down before my rear axle and it was cheaper than all the other exhausts and sounds mean. Just go ahead and pay the extra for the one made out of nice stainless steel. Surprisingly doesn't drone too much in the cab and sounds awesome when you get on the throttle, nice throaty sound. It also weighs less than the stock exhaust and definitely flows better. It might not have any more power at WOT, but I notice a good bit better power at all other throttle openings. Don't have to rev it out as much to merge into traffic, that sort of thing. Im speaking only for my truck which also has an AFE power intake with front scoop, but both those flow mods combined have made my truck quite a bit more drivable, as well as improving throttle response significantly. Those who also drive a 6MT would likely appreciate the improvement in throttle response

Someone told me that the "stall" would go away if the exhaust was changed out. Can anyone confirm? When I say stall...when you hit the gas and it takes a second to start chugging along.

It will do nothing for that. Even the Tundras does that sometimes.

That would be a lack of throttle response. Exhaust won't do anything for it.

I had been toying with putting a Flowmaster series 50 Delta Flow muffler on my 2017, but I have decided that I'm going to keep stock exhaust, as the truth is its getting pretty damn hard to get any real performance increase from an after market exhaust system compared to the factory exhaust, so I'll save the money and use it to buy my new rims instead.

I've been into street bikes since high school, and have ridden over 500k on streets bike, and for quite a few years now, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha have gotten so good at designing their exhaust systems that installing an after market slip-on muffler may only give you 1 to 2 HP and maybe a couple of ft. lbs. increase in torque if your lucky, and in a lot of cases road testing by the top motorcycle mags have actually shown a slight loss of HP, torque or both, and the only real benefit of an after market muffler is less weight and more noise.

Many of the editors from Cycle World and Motorcyclist magazines routinely now speak of how great the factory exhausts on new bikes are, and maybe I've decided not to put on a muffler because I'm 63 this Dec. and don't want the added noise, but I think them main reason is I've never heard a V6 with an after market exhaust that I really thought sounded good.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
Thread hijack for a moment... I have a '16 TRD Off Road 4x4 3.5 A/T that i purchased new in Feb. My exhaust already sounds throaty... kind of growls a bit. Haven't had the opportunity to compare it to another truck equipped the same, but it sounds way different than any "stock" V6 truck exhaust I've ever heard. Any one else notice this?

I looked at the part numbers for the stock cat back exhaust, and they all are the same with the exception of one different part number according to the length of the truck bed and wheel base and not by the model, and the prices are all the same at $340. So I would say that all of the cat back exhausts are the same, and I have the same opinion about the exhaust on my SR5 that you do on your OR.
