It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Did you do a cb drop on stock suspension? or how did you fix rumble strip?

Toyota put new springs in which adjusted the drive line angle and this fixed it.

Also, it raised the rear about an inch.

So you dont know any specifics?

I have dakars in now, which aside from not sagging and squeaking I can put axle shims in without taking the leafs apart. I guess this could help but first I will drop cb.

Shims should fix it, just measure and get them proper degree ordered.

I feel it, very slightly. Is there any damage/issues that can arise from it
or is it just an annoyance?

'17 owner here, truck is 2 weeks old with the same washboard issue. Was there ever any resolution from the TW member having his frame measured? I'll check mine out this weekend and see if the wheels are off at all from the frame. Pretty disappointed, being a mechanical engineer, that a drive line shudder/vibration issue like this was not caught in Toyota qual or simulation. Then again, a lot of things were never address that have proven to be problems on this new generation. Other than this drive line shudder I've had no issues with the truck and love it!

Toyota wont authorize my service manager to apply the fix because my angle isn't "bad enough" and falls within their acceptable range.

So, the fix listed here is making the rounds and it *is* an option that dealers can use--but Toyota requires them to measure the drive shaft angles and it has to fall outside of their specs. Those specs, imo are too broad of a range, because my rumble is pretty bad, but its still "good" according to Toyota.

I'm sure aftermarket leafs or a lift would fix it assuming you got the angles right.

I'd chalk this up to poor QC and loose tolerances.

So what is the correct angle and how is it measured?

That issue was pretty much resolved. I could still feel it a little but not near as bad as it initially was. I have since traded it for a different truck.

I haven't made any suspension modifications, and also felt a similar vibration when stopping, mostly felt between 35-10mph when slowing from a higher speed. Dropped my truck off 2 days ago for the 5K, along with a litany of issues to resolve, including this. They called me yesterday, and told me that my issues is due to the rear drums. They stated the parking brake cables was adjusted too tight from the factory, which has resulted in my drums warping. Should have more info in the next few days. Please pray for me, as the loaner they gave me is a sky blue Prius. Looks like I'll be 2-wheeling it for a few days!

The problem I have with this fix is that I am never even on the brakes and get the shudder. Its NOT BRAKES guys.......
With that in mind however, my dealer told me the latest TSB for the shifting trans issues would solve this. Um no. Thats not right either.

But I think they are onto something with that line of thinking.......My dealer believes (and I say believes) that this is something within the transmission. Not the pinion angle as it would be more noticeable under other scenarios - not just the 25-0mph decel. I tend to agree. It makes sense that as we slow down the trans is actually downshifting. Even if you put in in Neutral...I think its still "actuating" the right gear so when you toss it back in Drive your in the right gear for the speed vs 6th or 1st for example.

The service manager feels its something within the way the transmission downshifts and selecting the WRONG gear and/or related to the Torque Convertor locker.
Ok - now THAT actually makes some plausible sense.

This issue doesnt bother me anywhere near enough to have them rip stuff out (that wont fix it anyway) and go through all of that but I have had this documented on service visits in case something happens post factory warranty.

So who knows......His explanation and thinking (so far) makes the most sense to me out of anything I've read on these forums. And I personally HATE dealerships.

I would have to make a speculation (most of what any post on these forms are) that it has nothing to do with the transmission. I drive the 6-speed manual, and whether the truck is in gear or not under deceleration the vehicle exhibits the shudder under the speed range conditions others have described. After reading more on this issue before digging into my own specific case I would have to say that there is a driveshaft or drive train vibration of some sort as RPMs drop with speed reduction that is inducing a resonant frequency response in the rear suspension under a decelerating load. You don't feel any vibrations accelerating b/c the rear suspension is under a different load condition in that scenario. This may also explain why some people have this issue and other don't as there is a small range of rear leaf spring coefficients installed on vehicles. Those that experience the deceleration issue under hard braking or engine braking may just have a rear suspension tuned to just the right point that a vibration is induced from the drive train. I will test this theory by decelerating while maintaining 2.5k RPM in neutral vs decelerating in gear vs decelerating in neutral and allow the RPM to naturally drop.

It's not the brakes. I could drive 15 mpg and it was there. You only notice it on delec because most people don't drive that slow.

I knew it was pinion angle from the get go because I went through this when I lifted my old Avalanche 9". We put shims in to correct the angle and that fixed it. That's how I knew to tell them to measure the drive line angles and let me know the measurements. It's a simple cheap fix, but shims have liability, which is why they redesigned some springs to fix this and won't use shims.

Same here. I have only been driving on it for two days, but vibes are gone from what I can tell. If not 100% fixed, it is enough where I can't really tell. 1MIL times better than it was! Happy with the results for sure
