Do you have any steps on taking that dash piece off? I'm tracing down a rattle in the dash, near the passenger defrost area.

 

There was a whole thing about that, the defrost piece under the dash just rattles under the dash like a mother*er, remove your stereo and ac controls and you should be able to get back there with some foam tape.

Just grab it and pull it off, all the screws are underneath it

I just wedged a piece of rubber between the windshield and dash in the crease. No need to remove the dash.

I think he's referring to the felt recall thingy, maybe his didn't get done, so it would be where the defroster connects to the bottom of the dash. That's where my rattle came from even after the felt recall.

 

Hmm ok. Ya I'm not sure where mine started from but the rubber piece cured my rattle in that location.

Don't quote me, I'm not exactly sure what it was, but a bunch a tacomas had awful rattle, so they got sent somewhere to have the whole dash taken off and put felt strips under the dash, behind the passenger airbag and a bunch of other places

 

I got a 3/4" strip of expanding foam and used it.

 

Yes sir. Wiring as well. Basically a direct bolt on.
