I'm in the Sacramento area. I'm actually in Ojai right now, seeing family. Weather's a lot better than Sac. I brought my Drz400sm down to hit up 33. Today, (Wednesday) looks like a perfect day. Going home tomorrow.

You need at least a 5 inch travel bike and disc brakes to have fun, but still keep it real. DH bikes just make it boring. I used to ride it on a fully rigid bike, but that really beats the shit outta you.

I just graduated with a degree in wildlife and plantation management. really want to do something with wildlife, like a preserve or conservation. I know theres a lot of parks out that way. i also know a lot about running heavy equipment and have my GA Commercial Drivers License.

Your in luck, there are a few of willife and agriculture presserves out here, especially out at the channel islands, very nice islands right off our coast. I've done some snorkling, kayaking, hiking out there many times. They also protect some land on our Navy bases and parks. Also, for photography, she should find something, we do have a great photography college, Brooks institute, main campus in santa Barbara, and another campus in Venutra, plus Ojai is the Artsy captiol of So Cal, you will understand more if you make the move.

For all of you guys who rides bikes, what bike you riding in Ojai, I am down to hit up a ride, I'm rocking a 06 specialized enduro, 6 inch from and back, slight over kill for Ojai, but it sure is fun on the decents, and it beats riding my demo 8 uphill

Try and check in with the Park Services around here.

I used to work for NPS In the Santa Monica Mountains.
It was an awesome job, great pay, benefits, and hours.

Plus its a Federal job :spy:

There is also the Channel Islands NPS which I hear is a much better.
However, you will most likely get tied into a funky work schedule with the islands. Something like, 8 days on- 6 days off island.

Think their hiring right now, starting pay should be GS5, which is about $17.87 hourly. Which isn't too bad for entry level...

There has to be some good off roading trails in the Ojai area. A trail run would be awesome.
