Hey folks. The 4runner I bought about 8 weeks ago was rear ended about 4 weeks ago and insurance just totaled it due to body and frame damage, but is mechanically sound. Engine has 190k on it with a TRD supercharger, and a well cared for transmission. Pm if you are interested or know someone who might be

So I emailed the people I bought the lift from about how I'm not happy with how things are turning out as well as how by upper ball joint boot is now torn because the shock broke. I basically got a very long denial email that says there's is nothing they can do. We'll see how the 2nd gen shocks hold up but I'm leaning towards an icon coil overs at this point. Someone on the forum said to contact him about my failed shock and he's suppose to have a good relationship with icon so I'm waiting to hear back

Down at pebble beach and my truck found a new girlfriend. While I'll admit she is smoking hot I think she is a little out of his league

I don't mean ripping the steering wheel from you hand. But do you feel pot holes or bumps in the steering wheel while driving?

What would you expect to hear? They just provided you with product in exchange for dollars.

UCA problems are SPCs responsibility. Shock problems are Bilstein's responsibility. Warranties are from the manufacturer, can't hit up the people who made $100 on your sale and expect them to replace $1500 worth of product because the manufacturers won't.

Sucks for sure, but they don't have a dog in the race. They sell stuff, they work on your behalf with manufactures but they don't have any weight or any responsibility except to provide good service, which they did by going to bat for you with Bilstein, even if Bilstein said no bueno.

Understood, but the shock failed because it was assembled wrong and bilstein isn't going to cover the light racing boots even though the boot failed because the shock failed. Actually the shock didn't even fail, it was put together wrong which bent the shaft. I don't know if bilstein didn't thread it in or if the shop accidentally unthreaded it by not holding the shaft but the only person that's going to get screwed over is the consumer. Like I said, I don't expect a full refund but someone should have tried to work some sort of deal or tried helping more if they truly care about their customers. I basically got a "sorry, that sucks"

It felt fine to me. A minor step up from the TRD shocks, a little stiffer.

I got a free quesadilla from Chipotle. In my defense I was going to get the same shit anyways, but the chick was like 'Are you a veteran" I said yes, and she said I could pick an additional burrito or something and I said 'I just want my Tacos and that quesadilla' and she just deleted the quesadilla and put it in as a burrito. Works for me lol

I agree with this, its not Headstrong's fault here as they are just a resaler in this case, but Bilstein needs to step the fuck up in this case. Unless Headstrong receives unassembled 5100s and puts them all together, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's not the case.

Whoever said it- Tag the Bilstein CEO or w/e with this BS, whatever rep encountered your email needs to get his or her shit together. They should be at least sending you a new shock and doing something about the UCA even if its just to send you a new ball joint

Driving on 680 today, I came up on about 10 veteran bikers on Harleys who were in the right lane. Slowed down, so I wouldn't buzz by them, and passed about about 3 - 5 mph faster. As I passed the leader, he glanced over a bit and I gave him a friendly head nod, as if to communicate "thank you for your service". He raised his left fist up, elbow bent at 90°, and arm out to the side. Thinking this was some sort of symbol of unity, I did the same. Then something unexpected happened.

All of the other bikers also raised their fists...

Then they put on their turn signals. Turns out they were just exiting.

Universal sign for a right turn.

    image.jpg

I pretended to adjust the sun visor with my raised hand...

I'm not a veteran, nor do I have a Harley, but for a moment, I felt the unity.

    Happy Veterans Day.
