1st breakdown at 2k transfer case seized.
2nd breakdown at 4952 miles. Faulty brake switch. My truck would not accelerate. It limped in the middle of an intersection.

Very frustrating to have a brand new truck breakdown on you twice before its first service. I have complained to management and they expressed themselves to be on my side. I have a loaner which is good! They quickly took care of me.

Maybe others are but mine has been a burden. My pops has a 2016 DCSB SR5 V6, 10k and no issues. I bought mine because the cost was significantly lower than other 4wd Tacomas but it seems like it is not going to work for me. I will know by today whether my request of getting another truck will be approved.

That sucks!! I hope they get this fixed for good. I would call corporate, and ask for an extended warranty seeing how it is breaking down so much so soon!

Just saw you post, I hope you get a new truck!

Transfer case seized? Don't hear that very often. Did they forget to put fluid in it?

Another major breakdown for someone with a low post count ? Things that make you go hmmm
Any paperwork we might be able to see with those two big breakdowns like what was wrong with the transfer case? It's very unusual.

Not a troll sir. I used to frequent hidplanet.com, https://www.hidplanet.com/forums/member/96268-tj714. Just started here because I bought a 2016 Tacoma.

This post just goes to show that no matter if you buy a 3.5L or the trusty 2.7L... that at the end of the day they are machines built by man and there may or may not be flaws. However I don't think these posts should deter people from buying whichever tacoma model they prefer. It is unfortunate and a pain in the butt when things like this happen but again that's the nature of buying anything, you might have problems and you might not. OP I hope you're able to get your truck fixed asap or that they hook you up with a brand new one of your liking. Best of luck to you friend.

I was hoping you were because I have the same truck as you on order and I'll be picking it up in a few weeks and I really thought this SR 2.7 would be bulletproof

Because clearly you haven't followed the trend of low post trolls around here.

I agree its a rare occurrence. Get the truck you want. We are lucky to have warrantys and laws that protect consumers.

So a good outcome. My truck is being taken back in. The dealer is really taking care of me. My truck broke down on Monday night and I am in a new one already.I picked up a 2017 Tacoma DCLB TRD Offroad. :D:D:bananadance::bananadance:

In sense but no financial loss. The deal prior has been voided.
